Great story, I love it.
I have a similar story.
My jw hubby and I had a retail store. One dreary Febuary we asked one of our employees to change the window display. Do something bright and cheery my husband told her.
So she did a window display all in red. A few days later an elder came around to have a talk with us. He came to our place of business and asked to speak to both of us during retail hours, and no, he did not call ahead., he just showed up.
Well it turns out our red window display stumbled someone because valentines day was approaching.
My husband confronted the elder and said that if a brother had a problem with him the bible says to talk with that person directly.
Well the elder hemmed and hawed over this, said stuff like, "well he didn't feel confortible talking to you". which was silly because my ex was one of the most appraochable people you will ever meet.
Anyhow, the elder continued to berate us for a while, all the time my husband was waiting for the right moment. All of our employees were JW's and this elder knew it. My husband told him about the instructions he had given the employee but the elder did not see this as an excuse, saying "you are responsible for this, if this person loses his faith, it's on your shoulders". Hubby finally said "well lets talk to the employee who did this and proceeded to call this employee into the room.
When the employee walked in the elders face was priceless, it was his own wife. My hubby and I enjoyed their expressions for a moment and then without a word left the room for them to hash it out between them.
