It felt good to spend a day with a non JW gay! :)

for those of you who are in the slightest bit interested, i thought i would give you an update into how my life is now panning out since i accepted my sexuality.. so, contrary to what the jws have counselled all these years, i found a guy on a dating website named jack, and started to get quite friendly with him through text messages and facebook!

it has now been 3 weeks.

yesterday... i met up with him!.

30 years of bound volumes make it to the curb .....

our box of watchtower and awake bound volumes have sat out in the garage the past five yrs .

this week is city wide clean up so we finally toted them to the curb .

those suckers are heavy !

And just to prove Im not completely nuts, when I exited I filled two garbage cans with lit and set it by the curb. All newer stuff, I kept the old.

The only thing I regretted throwing out was our blood cards.

The day I realized I would have let my children die because of that religion was a very bad day, I tore my kids blood cards into the tiniest of bits, then I set them on fire, then I stomped on the ashes over and over grinding them into the dirt. All the while my poor never-JW hubby kept reasuring me over and over that I never would have let my kids die. But he is wrong, I would have.

Some of them are valuable, some are not.

The 1934 yearbook is worth about 80-90 dollars. And is even being reprinted by someone and they are selling them for about $25.

Any of the studies in the scriptures have some value.

And please, please, Im begging you, if there is any older pamplets, single (not in bound volumn) magazines, assembly badges, assembly programs, blood cards etc, ANY bits of JW paper, or odds and ends, please please do not throw them out.

I will buy them or help you sell them.

Thirty years? So nothing pre-1980 I hope?

Some of us are still trying to fill out our collection of older bound volumns and would love to get them.

i overheard a conversation from my family, jw's are shunning me, but the best part is i am not a jw, never been bathtised, just a born in who woke up in his early thirties.

the reasoning behind it was something i did, it wasn't fornication because im still a virgen, it wasn't stealing, killing or praying to false gods, drinking or anything that the bible defines as sin, im not even the going out type, i dont have many friends, never been reprove or did anything to set a bad example (i was your typical jw) no no no, it was a book, it was sending an email to a family member who happens to be jw with the shephearding the flock ppf.. this book was a huge shock to the person, eventually it raised questions and spread around, eventually this went full circle back at me, my parents already concerned for some time has asked brothers to see if they can fix my reasoning so i can be brainwashed again and give them money to some rich guys in brooklyn who dont have any ethical responsibilities towards others.

i wanted my parents to do this, i want them to see what the brothers will do and say about me, thinking and hopping, that some day they will wake up from their long sleep.

On a side note, I don't know why people get so foaming at the mouth about the elder's book. I used to have one and it's for the most part incredibly dull and procedural,

Thats the point, once you see it, you realize its nothing special.

My JW sister insists that the elders manual now instructs elders to call the police when an accusation of child abuse comes up. When I asked her to show it to me, she said she couldn't, only elders may read the book. So i asked her to get her elder husband to just photocopy the part about calling the police, and block out anything else. She has not done that of course, because it is not there.

JWs who are not elders, think that book is filled with super-special, elite info.

If I could get my sister to read it, and see how dull and un-original it is, it might get her to think a little.

Why doesn't the Watchtower have official video responses to critical Youtube videos?

youtube has the wonderful functionality of video responses.

i have seen jw members provide some responses and even then not very many.

why hasn't the watchtower utilized this functionality and offer offical responses to their accusers?.

I would LOVE to have a comment debate with anyone from the Governing Body any one from the Governing Body so I can point out all their logical fallacies and the holes in their arguments. I could die a happy man if I were able to do that.

And I would pay good money to see a GB member sliced and diced by a no good apostate!

I was going to try to explain, then I saw that JonothanH said it better then I could.

Once you believe your the spokesperson for god, details and facts dont matter anymore. And with each passing year you are more and more heavily invested in that belief, and less likely to think otherwise. But like I said, JonothanH said it better.
