Know what makes me terribly sad about some on these forums?
by Derrick ini find something very distressing not to mention terribly sad about some of you people (and to those who are not one of these people i kindly ask to please don't fly into some "i'm so insulted!
" snit as if i'm wrongfully referring to you).
to those people i'm referring to i say: you rightfully hope for the british and u.s. military to destroy that saddam monster and its minions of mass-murdering/worshippers throughout iraq.

Derrick,
How you can compare Saddam Hussein to normal everyday people is beyond me.
Jw's teach that good people will be killed for not being one of them. Your analogy is ridiculous.

Do You Think That You're A Little Bit Crazy???
by minimus ini spent the week with a few people, 2 jw's and their 2 non-believing husbands.
a few different situations arose that suggested to me that some of these people are a little bit crazy.
now, i'm not talking about certifiably crazy,i'm talking about just a little bit nuts.

Is God out there?
by digderidoo ini have left the org for many years now.
sometimes i think jehovah is there, sometimes i think there cannot be a god for all the suffering that we see happening in this world.. just lately i have been wondering if god really exists, is the bible his word or is it all just a load of b*****ks.
i have looked into other religions, buddhism for instance, i believe we are spiritual, but is there a need for a god?

If we accept there is a God do we have to accept there are rules and regulations we must adhere to, like we did in the WTBTS?
Do other Christian religions have it right, for instance i here about born again christians, who do not accept an organised religion, but have room for debate within their beliefs. By accepting the God of the bible are we saying millions of others are wrong, who adhere to another belief system?
Anyway just thinking out loud, but wondering what others thought.

Will It Be Cold Turkey For England?
by Englishman ini don't think so, but the turks aren't known for being nice.. despite a barrage of criticism from the media, england are odds on favourites to win their next euro 2004 qualifying match against turkey at the sunderland stadium of light.
the visitors have won their opening three group games and anything other than a defeat would put them in a very strong position.
the hosts are currently at around evens to win group 7.. .

The home nations teams love to beat England because they're jealous of us!!!
There is no other explanation other than we have a better team. When they play we like to see them do well, we don't mind these lesser mortals trying to keep up with the standard we set.
BTW the same applies to the aussies too.

Offerings at Christian Church's
by goofy inwhat do you think about offerings or collection plates being passed at church's?
i sometimes go to this christian church and they pass a plate.
being raised a witness, i sometimes get a weird feeling that they are doing something wrong and it bothers me?

Although a plate was never passed in KH's, the contribution box was conveniently placed on the way out. How many times did we have to listen from the platform how the 'spreading of the good news' couldn't be accomplished without our 'voluntary' donations.
At least by the passing of the plate you are being asked directly to donate funds.
This is just a way that churches have been raising money for centuries.
