I saw a documentary recently which placed the ark in Ethiopia. There is a village there that is Jewish, legend has it that their ancestors brought it down there. DNA showed that this tribe was in fact Jewish, the report then went on to show how the ark was wooden and replicated through generations became a big drum carried in battle. The researcher eventually found one in a museum in Zimbabwe. I can't think of the name of the programme, but it was fascinating, sounds at first far fetched, but as the programme produced evidence the reasoning panned out.

Do elders actually read a DA letter?

i have thought about daing myself over the years.

i see it as putting that part of my life behind me, however i will not at the moment due to my mom.

at some point in the future i will do this and close a chapter of my life.. i have always wondered though whether the elders actually read the reasons as to why a person does this.

I have always wondered though whether the elders actually read the reasons as to why a person does this. Or is it the case that the body of elders will only read and concentrate on the part where the DAing is written? For instance, if i were to write about the doctrines i do not believe in (such as 1914, etc.) would the elders actually read that or just skim through it for fear of reading apostate material?

I would appreciate elders or ex elders views on this, as to what they did or do.

i was just reading through some post(not intending to actually start a thread) and a sister calls to confirm our families service plans for tomorrow.

the funny part is i told my wife earlier this week that this organization is complete b.s.

guess i'll be cool about it because my wife was not all that upset or surprised.

How Do You Make Money Online? Do You Want To Make Money Online?

coming out of the witnesses like many here with no university education, it's been a little difficult at times to know how to make a decent living.. since being disfellowshipped, for asking way too many difficult questions of the elders, i've found myself becoming more and more immersed in making money online.. perhaps you do the same?.

or on the other hand, perhaps you too are struggling to understand how you too, could make a decent living online?.

it seems to me, that this could be an awesome opportunity for some here involved in the business of making money online, to help fellow exwitnesses and others too, become more acquainted with some of the methods used to generating an ideal situation to earning for themselves more income.. of course, this can be a very confusing area for some people to understand and/or get to grips with.. so this got me to thinking this afternoon, how many of us here could help our fellow posters out.. my first question then is - if you are already making money online, how do you do it?

you are employed as a full-time nanny for a married couple of business executives who have a preschool-age child.

1) is your first responsibility to jehovah god and his earthly organization, or to your "worldly" employers?

I could answer all the questions with one answer. I would see it as any other job, your employers wishes come first as long as it does not conflict with Jehovah's. You should have time off to do service work, meetings, etc. All these things should fit into your time, not your employers. If there was an accident of course a witness wouldn't delay in contacting the parents or emergency services. I do not see any dilemma in being a nanny.
