Well all of that was certainly an interesting read. I've no comment really about my own opinions on it all, but I do have a question. You wrote...
::want to know how this chip implant will become necessary for you to be included in the New System? You can't get into Paradise without it!::
I understand the polar opposition between this manufactured "paradise" and the "paradise" carrot that the WTS holds out; what I'm trying to understand is how the WTS could or would tie into any of this because, well, doesn't this brand of "paradise" by definition leave all JWs out in the cold? In other words, if JWs believe it is the LACK of "the mark" that will distinguish them and save them, doesn't this scenario you present essentially annihilate them? And why would the WTS be on board with such a plan? Your other thread seems to assert very plainly that you think the WTS is a part of orchestrating it, and that's what I'm trying to make sense of.
Sorry if I'm being dense or wrangling over semantics, but I am curious about the seeming discrepancy and hope you will elaborate.
(Disclaimer: I think the JW "paradise" is a bunch of hooey, but I do recognize the very real potential of Orwellian constructs -- I am just curious to understand more clearly exactly how you think the WTS ties into this particular one.)

1989 Reasoning From The Scriptures-PDF! (BM-S-R)
by Atlantis in1989 reasoning from the scriptures-pdf!
bm=bookmarked s=searchable r=reduced from 148-mb to 62-mb ***************************************** this book was not ordinarily offered to the public.
in most cases, this book was the reason a jehovah's witness always had an answer when a house-holder said, "i am not interested," or wanted to politely ask them to leave!

could jw's prove their beliefs without watchtower literature?
by atpeace ini was pondering this question today.
i thought it might be an interesting tactic to use with my family.
if i simply asked that they prove all beliefs by the bible alone.. growing up - every time discipline or counsel was given - it was based on getting out the bound volumes.

It depends on whose definition of "prove" you mean. I have engaged in many maddening discussions asking my JW to do just that, only from the bible, and all I've learned really is that one person's proof is another person's nonsense. From a standpoint of objectivity and reason, no of course they can't prove it from the bible. The tougher question, in my opinion, is can one prove to a JW that their "proof" isn't proof at all?
As a simplistic example, I have been told with absolute certainty and conviction that the two "birthday bits" in the bible are irrefutable "proof" that it is wrong to celebrate birthdays. How do you argue with that mindset? How do you "prove" that that's not "proof" at all? You can take the literature off the table, but it's still in the brain, and because of that I've never once been able to have a reasonable discussion based on a mutual definition of "proof." One thing I've learned from JWs, is that you really can make the bible mean anything you want it to mean. -

Is BeaNO safe for dogs???
by Low-Key Lysmith inmy poor old boy's teeth just aren't what they used to be.
i've begun feeding him wet canned dog food so that he can eat a little easier.
problem is now, he busts off with some of the foulest farts on record.

Awww what a beautiful dog! I don't know if Beano is safe for dogs, maybe ask your vet. They do make "anti-gas" products specifically for dogs; they are kind of expensive though, and I don't know whether they work or not but the reviews seem to be decent. Here are a few:

So in 30 years, Adam never thought of eating from the tree of life
by Mr Ben inok, does this thing sound right to you?
2 special trees, middle of the garden, 30 years messin' about (at least according the spineless and shivering slave) blah blah blah .... and it never occured to the dumb twat to eat from the tree of life?
what a dumbass!

This might be a supremely stupid question, but how was it "supposed" to go? I mean, if Adam and Eve had "followed the plan" and not eaten the fruit, then what? Would they have multiplied, and the same rule would have applied to everyone forever and ever, and then... what? I'd never thought of that before, and it occurs to me that I've no clue what the "right" ending was supposed to be and how the heck that could have worked out. The whole story is a setup for failure from the beginning, but it seems that even a "non-failure" would have been doomed to fail eventually anyway?
(Never been a JW, and not particularly well-versed in the Bible either, obviously LOL. But I am curious about this.) -

Opinion poll: Is it wrong for grandparents to buy presents for all but one?
by cognizant dissident inmy parents (jw's) have 4 small grandchildren between the ages of 5 and 8. they recently went on a trip and brought back presents for 3 of the kids but left out one because they "didn't have time to find anything".
my sister was very upset and refused to accept the present for her daughter if they had nothing for her son.
my parents thought she was making a big deal out of nothing and since gifts are voluntary, technically, they don't have to buy them for any of the kids and can do so as they choose.

Wow, that does seem not just insensitive but downright cruel. If it were a one-time incident that could be chalked up to cluelessness or good intentions gone awry, that would be one thing, but what you describe sounds like a long-standing, deliberate pattern. It seems to me that a loving grandparent who made an oversight like that and got called out on it, would then be very careful not to exclude any of the children again (and again and again and again). I suspect they know exactly what they're doing, and that it's hurtful.
I agree with those who say it sounds like an issue of passive-aggression, though it's sort of baffling -- how sad and awful to target children with that sort of poison :-( I think your sister certainly did the right thing, it sounds like you've some very kind and cognizant adults in the family who are taking good care to protect the kids from this kind of crap and the hurt it could cause.
PS Love the idea of inviting one but not the other to dinner, LOL. -

Hi 4mylove, your situation hits home with me because I am in a very similar situation myself; my JW hasn't been inactive for as long as yours has, but I understand exactly what you mean about the constant fear that he'll jump back in full-force some day. I think you're very right that he has to make the decision himself, and WANT to know the truth about "the truth," and will only ever get fully out if it comes from his own heart. In my case, my JW doesn't like the harsh and rigid "lifestyle" of being active, but he does pretty much believe in the organization and the things it teaches, and that is terrifying because it feels like a ticking time bomb that could go off at any moment. In my own personal case, I'm of the belief that the only way I'll ultimately succeed in freeing my JW is if he comes to see and understand the tactics behind the WTS -- basically, brainwashing and indoctrination. Discussing doctrine or flip-flops or twisted scriptures has gotten me exactly nowhere, because it's like there's a mental disconnect that kicks in and somehow allows him to ignore, or discount, or be unable to see, the most blatant evidence. But it's my feeling that if we can get to a point where he starts to understand WHY his brain is processing things in that way, that could open the floodgates and lead to a full and permanent exit. A long long LONG road, to be sure.
I know how you feel and how frightening it is to know in your heart that this wicked organization could swallow him back up at any time, with him a willing participant. I don't have any answers for you, but did want to post that you're not alone and there are others who feel your pain. I wish you luck :-) -

This is disgusting! My copy of "Combatting Cult Mind Control" includes a disclaimer saying that CAN had changed hands and Hassan does not endorse the "new CAN" in any way, but I never checked into the reasons and was unaware of the details until now. It's bad enough that they were able to litigate this group into the ground, but to then be allowed to acquire and operate it as a deceptive front for the very thing it was formed to combat in the first place? There is something very stinky about a system that allows such a thing to happen, I feel sick after reading this.
I find this scary as hell, not to mention grotesque and evil. Thank you for the enlightening post.
