Transitions after leaving the borg..experiences?

i am just going to put this out here to see how you all feel about this.......... here goes............... do you think that being a jw , especially raised in it, has taken away your chance of ever trusting yourself ever again in regards to what you believe in?

i mean , you can read books, many by very educated men/women, you can read every bible printed, you can read every self help book, but do you find yourself at times just not caring anymore?

i mean once your trust has been broken, what is the point in reading another man's version of what truth/reality is?

My wife and I have only been out for 6 months, but right now we don't know what to believe. I don't think we'll ever get involved with an organized relgion ever again...as for our belief in God...not so sure about that either. We just don't know anymore. We can't believe we ever bought into the lies of the witnesses.

It isn't easy, but it so worth it. Since me and Mrs. Dim quit going to meetings 6 months ago, we've felt so much happier, and Satan is really blessing us.

Sept. Magazines Ridiculous Quotes

on reading the september issues of watchtower and awake, i had a good laugh at the hypocrisy that leaped out at me.awake sept 8th 2002 :"to believe that numerological interpretations are accurate, when they are based upon such widely variable factors as calendar and language, is to stretch the limits of credibility to an absurd degree.".

considering the amount of ridiculous number crunching done by the society, how amazing that they print that statement!

if i remember rightly 607 date is based on an interpretation of calendar dates and the 'language' of the bible (which they always manage to skew to their doctrine).

unbelievable. I bet all of the people who think they are annointed just got a bigger head after reading that garbage in the watchtower.

i hated all the elders who thought they had to tell someone what had to be done and they themselves weren't doing it.

I was only a regular publisher, but I absoluetely hated giving talks. It used to crack me up that nobody knew or realized that I essentially gave the same talk everytime......into was usually an illustration followed by the bible reading...conclusion was a "how can we apply this to us as jah's people today" type thing. #4 talks were slightly different, but the jist was the same. Everytime, people would come up and tell me how great my talk was. My wife and I used to crack up, cause we both knew I threw it together in about 10 minutes over dinner that night.

I did love early morning service though....nothing like drinking coffee and driving around listening to Public Enemy.

Can owning/reading apostate material get me DF'ed?

hello, first time poster, long time reader.. i was wondering just what my title asks.

if i own/read/admit to apostate material, can that get me df'ed?.

i know better then to admit that i believe the apostate material to the elders, or that i disagree with the society's teachings, but will simply admitting to owning and reading them get me df'ed?.

I wouldn't think so, although if they know that you've read those books, they'll ask you if you think that it is Jehovah's organization. If you waver at all, you will pretty much get the boot.

Surviving the Hearing to DF Me.

i must say that reading all these posts have really brought back so many memories for me.

i had a terrible experience at my hearing, which i believe now, really bordered on sexual abuse of the mental kind.. our congregation was small.

this was difficult for the few young people that attended.

very touching story, reminds me of when the elders were grilling me for every last detail when i was 15 years old. they love abusing their power.

for you folks who do not believe that jesus is god almighty answer these questions, the bible does.. who raised jesus from the dead?-father romans6:4 acts3:26, 1 thess 1:10. the son john 10:17,18, john 2:19-21 the holy spirit romans 8:11 god acts 13:30 heb 13:20. who does the bible say god is?

the father john14:2 the son john 1:1-3 the holy spirit gen 1:2 god gen 1:1. who saves man?

but i think you get the point.
