this seems to be an example of "witness folklore," meaning that although there may some sort of basis for this experience, some of the facts seem highly exaggerated. i've heard different versions of this experience over the last 22 years. maybe the interested family would like to take a field trip to northern pittsburgh to look at russells grave? that'd be neato.

i'm leaving the JW's in 3 months.....i doubt I'll do anything like this. Do you guys blame the JW's for everything that goes wrong w/ your life? christ, thats pathetic. The UN Thing - A Blatant Lie!!

it occured to me that the wt are always saying the importance of telling the truth in all matters, yet their un membership of the dpi constituted a blatant lie to the same body as well as to their members.. for an organisation that prides itself on telling the truth, and how it really is, recently, that is, one could say that they have not exactly a very clean, perfect slate.

how are they / can they live with this, as this action on their behalf violates their very own pillars of structure?

Are Witnesses Losing Their Sanity?

in recent years, i'm hearing more and more stories that suggest.

that the collective state of mental health among jws may be.

declining rapidly.

i think that most old time JW's are going nuts - I know my mom is slowly but surely losing it. And the part in the KM last night about the new tract was just pathetic. Basically a plea for bible studies.

Is there a big conspiracy to keep you poor?

when i was a witness, i often heard that if you left the trooth that you would become rich fast, have gratuitous sex constantly, become a drug addict and end up worshipping satan.

man am i disappointed!!

it seemed for the longest time that there was a giant conspiracy to keep me a poor working stiff just above the poverty line, especially so when i was going to college full time.

my wife and I make very good salaries for our age and we are saving alot of money and also buying ourselves things that make us happy. I don't believe that religion or specifically, Jehovah's Witnesses - especially in the year 2001 - have anything to do with your richness or poorness. its who you are as an indvidual and what you do w/ the knowledge that you attain. thats just my opinion.

JW's and Chronic Fatigue Syndrone!

chronic fatigue syndrone, m e, yuppie flu.

i dont know if anyone else has noticed the alarming number of jws who claim to suffer from chronic fatigue syndrone,i mean hear in cornwall there tend to be several sufferers in every congregation,outside the jws out of the many people i know i dont know anyone,although there are obviosly many outside the jws who suffer this illness,percentage wise it seems that jws have a much,much larger occorance of the illness.. for example my brother in law has not worked and been living on invalidity benefits for more than 10 years since his mid twenties,his brother is also in the same boat, an m.e sufferer.. i wonder if anyone has looked into this a bit more?

my mom claims to have chronic fatigue AND fybromyalgia. Pioneer sister, doesn't work - always tired. i think I believe her but I'm not really sure what to believe when it comes to that. I do know that she takes more pills than I take in 1 year. The witness cure all - she buys all of her pills from another person in her hall who quit his job to sell pills and make money using a basic pyramid scheme - of course everybody in the hall is involved. i guess thats another topic though.
