  kiro reported the lawsuit filed by erica against the elders in.

  her former eastern washington congregation and against the governing body for not doing anything about her sexual molester.

  according to the news, that when she went to the elders to expose belize--the elders threatened to disfellowship her if she go to court.

  I had forgotten all about that badwillie...i have my notebook of "weird things they say at JW meetings" and word for word here is what the CO or DO said (i forget which)

  I don't think they'll come out and say that its banned, but I think they'll have some very negative articles on "the evil internet" very soon and basically give people massive guilt trips. Sort of applying the view towards college to the internet....

  it bears on the question - just what perception has the various wts letters - i.e., gillies's and the recent letters from hq, actually created.

  is it an accurate one?.

  i'm wondering if any of you ex elders ever felt embarrassed or awkward about having to stick your noses into other peoples business did it ever seem like that to you, or were you of the mind that you were a necessary part of the lives of the flock?

  Who was a squeaky clean dub?

  i'm wondering if the majority here were seriously conservative squeaky clean dubs?

  i took the whole thing very seriously.

  there seems to be such a fun element here - i can't imagine everyone being those dull folk all decked out in their wt uniform with accompanying plastic expressions.. marilyn

  i've never been squeaky clean (well maybe for about 9 months when i got baptized)....nothing too bad, but certainly not up to the standards of your average brainwashed JW. All details are in my head and won't be revealed here...

  questions about obtaining Higher Education for JWs

  i have read a couple of threads the last couple of days that dealt with what you have to give up when becoming a jw.. most posts that i read said they have to give up getting a higher education.

  my question is this: is that still a trend today?

  that elders frown or discourage young jws from going to college or university by telling them to put kingdom's interest first?

  i'm sure there has been articles, i'll do a search on the CD-Rom later today....4 year colleges are not officially approved and are a great cause for concern, 2 year colleges are the norm for most JW kids after high school...if they go to college.

  they allow college now, but it is still frowned upon by most people within the congregation.

  no blood cards this year!

  last night at meeting they told us to just use our blood cards from last year.

  in the past they've always told us how important it was to get it signed every year so that people could see our current views as jw's.....doesn't this new arangement negate everything they've ever said in regards to this?

  the brother didn't know what he was talking about, sorry to say. The society never said that, that was the brothers opinion. The blood cards have been printed up for months....same with the KM that said they would be handed out. don't be so naive
