i am curious, what amount people on this board from their experiences of being a baptised & active jw and their subsequent exit from the jw org (for whatever reason or reasons) are now either agnostic, atheist or do some actually still believe in god?.
your honest answers please.. lfcv.
Atheist - as in the actual definition of the word, not what most people think it means. A - theist as oppossed to theist. In other words, opposite of theist. I don't have a belief in a specific god, therefore I am an atheist by definition. That does not mean I don't believe that a god can exist.
What LDB said. (In spite of Mr. Dawkins).
btw: I do like Dawkins work.

i used to be here a real lot.
now i make about 15 posts , if that,.
per day and read a few other threads that interest me.
It really depends largely on my work schedule. If I'm working from the home office, or in the airport, (like I am now), It is quite easy to post several times a day. There are other weeks, where I'm working out of town at a customer site, and the chances are few and far between.

hi guys.
i haven't posted here in a year or so, perhaps more.
i'm not sure what i want to say, and i'm not sure that i want to put it down, since the more info you give here, the easier it is to be spotted.
However, I've found that it will tend to swing back the other way again and center a bit more in a balanced center.
What Daystar said. But PATIENCE is important here.

i was just reading the convention thread..the wbt$ tells jehovah`s witness`s which hotels they can and cannot stay in..i`ve been out a long time,so this is news to me..wbt$ continues to expand thier control over jehovah`s witness`s..jehovah`s witness`s continue to give up more and more of thier personal freedom to a publishing company.this has continued for as long as i can remember..make no mistake, wbt$ will come up with many more rules for jehovah`s witness`s to follow...what new moronic rules do you see the wbt$ imposeing on jehovah`s witness`s?...outlaw
I'm surprised they don't come up with recommended restaurant lists too.
Just don't forget to wear your lapel card when eating at the restaurant. Did anyone actually DO this???

just feeling a bit fed up.
it's not always like this i know but i'm wondering if life would be far easier for me and my wife if i just drew a line under all my efforts to maintain a relationship with my jw mother, brother and sisters.
all the rejection, judgementalism and condescension gets a bit much after a while.. how many here actually said 'goodbye' to their jw family and can honestly say they did not regret it?.
Like Blondie, I too come from a very dysfunctional family that I pretty much gave up on long before I left the dubs. They were irrational THEN, I certainly have no desire to talk to that wall of insanity NOW.

" "you are back at square.
this is what my best friend said to me regarding the rejection of the truth.
You know, I really doubt that the hope of "everlasting life" is really what keeps witnesses "in" anyway. Fear is really what it comes down to. If a witness could overcome the fear, by means of excercising rational thought, and thus prove the organization false, not having everlasting life would not be such a big deal. I know in my own experience I am able to appreciate life as it exists today, with its ups and downs, even knowing full well, that someday I'm going to die. Once the "wieght is lifted", (the WTS dogma of how everything in this system is SO BAD), it is much easier to just simply accept, that we are all someday going to die. Enjoy life while it's here...

well looks like the governing body is getting 2007 off to a great start.
here is a little audio clip that somebody pointed out to me: .
Hmmmm, they never say things like we're really living at the time of the end???? Is this guy cracked?
Those were my thoughts exactly.
j
while you were a jw, were you generally feeling ill?
------did you know of persons that were initially pretty healthy but got depressed and sick because they never felt they could do enough??
?
How true! JWs have conditions many, if not most people never even heard of, like CFS. Depression and illness, (usually psychosomatic), are very big problems in the dubs.

i was just wondering how many ex-jws still read wt literature and if so why.
i have noticed alot of posters here know what the lastest wt or awake magazines are talking about and i was just wondering why do you bother to read that stuff since you left the wt?
No. I don't even own anymore literature, except for a NWT and Reasoning book. I prefer the "clean house" method.
