when i got off for lunch today i decided to go to the walmart deli and get something to eat.
it is a huge store, groceries, a bakery, mc donalds, a bank , eye center, beauty shop, a great deli, and a huge garden center.
i had taken back a 80 gig hard drive dvd recorder ( i couldn't figure out how to hook up <smile> and had received 238.00. i picked up a couple of things in the store then went to the deli.
WOW!
What a great experience, why don't you relate it to all in the congreagation so they could all marvel at Jehovah's protective powers.
Next relate to the CO when he comes around and i bet you is going to send it to the Society in Brooklyn and you'll be on stage at the next district assembly relating it and you'll have thousands in tears and awe at how Jehovah's comes thru for his people.
Next year it will come out in the March 1 2007 Watchtower
i am so sick of this!
i have a split family, some non-jw and some jw, and ever since i was a young kid, ive noticed this silly fear of entering a church, i remember i must have been about 9 years old when my uncle died and my family went to the funeral, but we stood outside, and even at that young age i remember it felt wrong, like we were disrespecting my dead uncle and his family.
like ive wrote on this board before, i told my parents when at 15 i didnt want to go to meetings anymore and was never baptized, when i was 18 my great uncle died and at the funeral i went into the church for mass, when it was over i walked outside all the rest of my family were outside waiting, they all gave me dirty looks like i was just caught with a prostitute.
How sick could we all have been, in my case when my father died i stood outside the catholic church so that i would not displease the watchtower.
You truly feel like choking someone for brainwashing all of us, but it was ok when " worldly" relatives or friends would show up at a JW funeral and have our beleif shoved down their throat whether they liked it or not.

in all the years i attended meetings, i don't recall seeing anyone kiss anyone there....... all i saw were handshakes.. not even any hugs.. i thought of this a few days ago, when my cousin came over to visit my old parents, and when he left, he gave a warm handshake and slight hug to my dad and hugged and kissed my mom on each cheek.. you don't see this at the kh.
If you need hugs go to a Spanish congregation, everyone hugs and greets one another
Americans are on the cold side but if you go to some Scandanavian KH in Europe, you will find out what coldness is all about.
Not putting anyone down but it boils down to culture
lately, i have even been questioning my beliefs in christ.
lets face it the ransom just does not make sense.
regardless of this, religion is soley a chronological and geographical entity.
After 31 years in the WT and realizing that it is just another religion with its own twist on the bible, i feel at times very aggravated at the creator for just not making it easier for humans to know what is acceptable to him. Who are we to say now that the bible is right and not the other holy books?
Or is it as simple as accept Jesus and live a good life?

once i left the jw social scene and started hanging out with "worldly" people a lot more, i realized that these "worldly" people don't gossip nearly as much as the witnesses.. i didn't realize it at the time but now i can see how much of a gossip-based social structure it all was.
jws absolutely thrive on gossip.

And elders have always been the worst of them all since they know a lot about everyone in the congr.
i had to go home over the weekend to pick up more furniture and such.
im moving into an apartment finally in lafayette.
anywho, i had 3 run ins with johos over the weekend and they were all pleasant.
Could it be that they are also going thru some doubts of their own about DF?
this is a difficult thing for me to do, i used to be a jehovahs witness 20 years service as a pioneer.. last thursday it was announced from the platform at my local kingdom hall that i was disfellowshiped.. it was a bit of a shock.
i still have a deep sence of anger at what happened to me and its so unfair.. it started 3 years ago when i began to feel ill and i missed a couple of meetings.
the elders were wonderful and came round and cheered me up.
I'm trying to figure out what was the reason for DF?
Was it for taking sleeping pills? Was it suicide?
If that's the case,never heard of someone getting Df if for that.
Did you question it or appeal?

a few days ago my wife commented on a letter sent out to all congregations (in the u.s.a.?
) regarding donations.
se said it was long and boaring, but in the end there where a few points she remembered.
Yes it's $8 per publisher per year.
They do say that it does not mean that every publisher needs to contribute if they don't have it but they want the congr. to send to full amount
If you have 150 pub. times $8 equals $1200 dollars
They don't care where it comes from they just want the check, if you don't pay you will hear about it as a congr. from the C.O.,
Maybe if you don't pay you might not get the CO visit
donations are definetely down, usually a congreg of 150 pub, they receive approx. 500-600 dollars, which is not much.
