  How do you cope with a zealous JW wife?

  i've been out for a little while now - fading was my chosen strategy.

  before then, elder for around 20 years - all the usual stuff.. why leave?

  (1) reading other material and thinking for yourself - never too late (2) couldn't stomach any more judicial committees where i had to preside over handing out edicts that were going to wreck peoples' lives (3) final realisation that i'm not going to let my children die because of the false 'blood' interpretation (4) nail in the coffin, which opened my eyes to the 'rotteness at the core' of the organisation, was the deliberate mis-quoting of scientists and others, to make a lie seem like truth.. anyway, my wife (both pioneered together) is as zealous as ever - more so now.

  Wish you the best.

  Don't have an answer since i went thru the same thing and after 26 years of marriage my wife left due

  to " spiritual endangerment ".

  It seems a lost cause trying to reason with them!

  According to what the wacthtower says the flood happened in the year 2370 bce.....that's only 4300 years ago.

  They found many Indian villages in the US as old as 11000 years and known fact that Chinese have been around for at least

  5500 years. Numbers just don't add!

  JW mom has limited contact with me these days

  my mom has been a jw since 1970. my dad, who died in 1994, became a dub in 1971. i have told parts of that story elsewhere on the board.. my mom remarried a couple of years later to a non-jw.

  my stepfather and i get along very well, despite his background (cussin', former hell's angel, former navy seal, smoker)...generally quite rough..but underneath a decent guy.. i just called down to my mom's today...about 11am... stepdad answers.... where is my mom?

  he says: "out doing her thing..." i say: "oh, you mean door knocking?

  I feel for you but it's always the same, double standards and mistreating those that made the mistake of getting baptized.

  Get close to your stepdad and forget your mother. It's a loosing battle dealing with a brainwashed mind!
