  well folks, this is big news!.

  since this un/wt scandal blew, there have been those who strongly suspected that this association was not the whole picture.. the un's reach is worldwide in scope, it goes without saying.

  and in order for the wt to use the un for that worldwide clout, an alliance had to be formed that goes way beyond the use of the un library, it now appears.

  Thanks all. I appreciate your patience. I have contacted them on this. What has been the impetus on this was the poster JEMIMAH. He/she
  stated there were links cached on the web concerning WT and the WCC.

  Please forgive my over-exuberance on this if it turns out to be a dud.

  I was not aware they could do that without their permission, especially in this touchy area.
  Six, I looked for a just to be fair comparison, but didnt see any.
  Also there are other christian faiths not mentioned.
  as soon as I get confirmation, I will post.

  Since this UN/WT scandal blew, there have been those who strongly suspected that this association was not the whole picture.

  The UN's reach is worldwide in scope, it goes without saying. And in order for the WT to use the UN for that worldwide clout, an alliance had to be formed that goes way beyond the use of the UN library, it now appears.

  As some are aware, the United Nations vigorously espouses worldwide ecumenism. Not just an ecumenism of the myriad christian denominations, but a uniting of ALL religions.

  This fits the UN globalist agenda.

  If you have been associated with Jehovah's Witnesses for ANY length of time, you know the party line to the rank and file JW, that interfaith or ecumenism is anathema in the eyes of God's sole channel on earth.

  To set the stage for this shocking link, I would draw your attention to the July 1st, 1993 page 16 paragraph 17 under the sub-heading
  "NO ECUMENISM".
  "Two other complaints made against Jehovah's Witnesses are that they refuse to take part in the ecumenical movement and that they engage in what is termed "aggressive proselytizing." Both of these reproaches were also flung at the early Christians. Christendom, with her Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant components, is undeniably a part of this world. Like Jesus, Jehovah's Witnesses "are no part of this world." (John 17:14) How could they ally themselves through interfaith movements with religious organizations that promote unchristian conduct and beliefs?"

  More importantly, what is the link to the UN?

  One of the center's objectives is:
  "We work to encourage and facilitate interfaith dialogue, collaborate with the United Nations on the integration of spiritual values into its daily activies, and are spearheading the international campaigns for peace and the environment."

  Folks, is there any doubt that Jehovah's Witnesses are a part of that old whore riding the back of the scarlet-colored wild beast? By their OWN words, they have condemned themselves!

  Let's please get this link out to as many people as possible.

  wbts insists on jesus' reply to the sadducees as literal about who's gonna marry whom in the new order because of multiple marriages in this life (asked by dudes who did not even believe in the resurrection and were always trying to come up with some riddle to trick jesus) is very important to the wbts and also very stupid.

  imagine the vast preponderance of those resurrected as having been married before death.

  if they "neither marry nor are given in marriage," that means that the overwhelming majority of people resurrected will constitute a sexless class.

  Amnesty International has big-time UN blessing and a globalist agenda.

  Did the UN set policy for the WT in the area of civilian service?
  I am only going on memory, but I think we had "new light" on that in the 1996 WT "God and the State".

  Anyhow, just thinking outloud and maybe I could get some thoughts from a few here on the board.

  Hello Hawk and all!

  Just wanted to bring this to the fore again, and add a few comments.

  I went over this article word for word and it appears that the UN/DPI made no changes. We should all appreciate what Hawk has done here and many have expressed gratitude. What Hawk obtained effectively dispells the myth that what was presented to the UN for their approval prior to the printing of the November 22nd Awake! was propaganda for the WT.

  Please note that ONLY the first article on pages 3-5 of that Awake! were submitted to the UN, entitled A"LONG JOB FINISHED".
  The following articles, "A View from the 29th Floor","Human Rights and Wrongs Today", and finally, "Human Rights for All A Worldwide Reality!, evidently were not submitted to the UN. These could rightly be considered as propaganda for the WT.

  When this issue was released, I was service overseer in my congregation. It was my custom to rise early on Saturday morning to review the WT and Awake magazines in order to bring out the field service points therein. I was probably no different from any other over-worked elder or publisher who was swamped with WT supplied reading material. And I admit that the Watchtower was the magazine that I perused. But I do remember thinking that this particular Awake article (A Long Job Finished)was strange in that it was not your typical UN jeremiad. But the following articles pointing to Jehovah's kingdom allayed those feelings of unease.

  Fast forward to 2001 and their duplicity is evident.

  Now before some point to the three questions under the last subheading in the article handed to the UN, "High Expectations", as proof that they were turning to WT propaganda in THAT article, consider this.
  Reread carefully the last paragraph on page four. Note the question, "Are the UN member states measuring up to this yardstick?

  Is this criticism of the UN? No indeed. It is a criticism of its members. The UN has the same view.

  Note what the October 22nd 1985 Awake! had to say on this.
  In the article "The UN-God's Way to Peace?, former Secretary-General Kurt Waldheim was quoted as saying: "One should realize that the United Nations is, after all, the world in microcosm. Its weaknesses must consequently be ascribed primarily to the contradictions that characterize the world community itself." He adds: "I should point out that it (the UN)(parentheses theirs) is no more than a mirror of the world it serves. That world is a conglomerate of extremely varied, often intractable, passionate, and antagonistic nations."

  That is also the UN's current view of its activities. Anything that underlines those frustrations (of dealing with varied member states)is welcomed.

  In my opinion, the WT did live up to its obligations as a UN associated NGO, all the while walking the highwire of not unduly upsetting the rank and file.

  That is what makes these documents from Geneva so important!
