Yeah, Al's son grew up on the property in Brooklyn. Al taught the Gilead school for many years and would make a point to be seen by Gilead students on the front lawn playing ball with his son.

by hambeak ini have been away for awhile and a customer brought me the latest magazines he had and i saw that albert g schroeder died last march.. the article also said he had a son in 1958 and was appointed to the governing body in 1974 that means his son was only 16. so my question.
did the family all live at bethel?
if not who paid their rent, and living expenses.

WT you may consider a really good psychotherapist or PTSD specialist.
You have the cult mentality that either you are a JW or a whore. The real world does not work that way. I don't know where your head is at but I truly wish you the best.
There ya go. Attack my psychology. Always a good option. No, I don't think "either you are a JW or a whore", but that mentality is echoed by many people on this site.

WT I see you have been well trained to belittle and attack people with the ability to think for themselves, and have no fear of telling the truth.
By "truth", you mean:
"Now that I'm out of that silly organization, I am finally free to get tatoos, get drunk on weekends, and bang as many chicks as possible! Damn the WTS for making me miss out on these essential things during my youth."
Right?

Let's just get something straight about 1975.
by WTFBBQPWNT innobody ever said that the end was coming in 1975.. all the hype about this date that has continued all the way down through today came from a talk in the early 70's by fred franz.
in this talk, franz pointed out the significance of the 7 creative days and how they correspond with 1,000-year time intervals.. he then said, "could the end come in 1975?
there's so much wrong with jehovah's witnesses from their rigid legalism to their faux love, but let's call a spade a spade about the 1975 thing..

Bravo friends.
This is more than enough info that I needed. Not being alive in 1975, I wanted to see how many sources could be quoted on this thread and thank you for everybody that posted audio or articles.
Let's face it, when one is searching for answers on this forum, the only way to get some real results is to start controversy. If I were to have started a thread that said, "Can someone help me find references saying that 1975 would mark the end?", the page wouldn't have gotten 3 replies.

Ray Franz CoC, was he in denial? Just asking.
by Wasanelder Once ini was reading a little coc last night where ray f. disusses the witch hunt at bethel that resulted in all the oustings.
as i read the doctrines that he questioned, (not judging him right or wrong), i noticed that he was questioning some of the fundamental beliefs of the wt.
ie: gov.

What I meant about you being wrong...is about me "defending" JW's.

the Society (at the very least) did nothing to stop that belief.
Of course they didn't. They're not going to do anything to hurt their numbers.

Nobody ever said that the end was coming in 1975.
All the hype about this date that has continued all the way down through today came from a talk in the early 70's by Fred Franz. In this talk, Franz pointed out the significance of the 7 creative days and how they correspond with 1,000-year time intervals.
He then said, "Could the end come in 1975? It could, but we don't know." (or something like that)
There's so much wrong with Jehovah's Witnesses from their rigid legalism to their faux love, but let's call a spade a spade about the 1975 thing.
