Publication Authors?

i was hoping some may be able to tell me the author(s) of any of the watchtower books - especially those from the last couple of decades.

if you can back it up with anything, that'd be great, too.. thanks..

solvents used in aerosol sprays, cologne, perfumes affect my health.

Panic Attacks

a co-worker says she's been having panic attacks lately and is quite concerned about them.. she was given a prescription for atarax to use 'as needed' but it didn't help any.. i wonder if anyone here has had - or knows someone who has had - these sort of attacks.. what sort of symptoms were experienced?

what treatment worked??

what didn't work???.

ps- i didnt go for treatment as such, i used 5-htp ( available at local healthstores - non habit forming etc, i believe you can get it prescription in the USA ) and the above method ( breathing and relaxing upper body )

Hi,
I have suffered severly with them recently, however at the moment i am over them.They are very disturbing especially if they grow and become more aggresive, which can seem to be a cycle.You get the first couple then you think there is something wrong with you, your system is under constant stress and ever more likely to suffer yet another attack.Is she hyperventilating with them yet????? thats even worse, because your body eventually becomes wracked with pains ( usually in the chest area ) so you start to believe your having a heart attack.

The brown paper bag is used by many to calm the breathing and recover the breath.
A classic sign she is becoming stressed is to watch the shoulders ( if they are raised upwards - she is/becoming stressed ) she then needs to relax completely let the shoulders drop and concentrate on her breathing.
I know its sounds odd but also tell her to ensure she eats a small snack every few hours, as blood sugar can have a huge effect of panic attacks and anxiety.

Thats true littletoe,
but you cant judge everyone by the majority, just like there are genuine witnesses who want to serve God.its just a shame for the genuine ones who never find a way out.

Hmm its hard to say my friend,
i personally would show her from the bible, people here would help.After all , she can deny raymond franz's book or the video, but will she deny evidence they are wrong from the bible??

I'd place a post asking for scriptures to show her the error of the JW doctrine and the doctrinal changes through the years.

I finally got the courage

i have been wanting to get the book crisis of conscience by ray franz for some time but for some reason have felt i might be commiting the unforgivable sin.

so i ordered it on amazon will be here in about 5 days.

I read this book after i discovered the witnesses were wrong from the bible, i also read, counting the days to armageddon by robert crompton thats a worthwhile book as well.

A most notable bible verse

ecc 12:12 "and further, from these, my son, be warned; the making of many books hath no end, and much study is a weariness of the flesh.

in this verse there is a fluent sweetness to the eyes of the ones seeking gods love and a sharp bite to those who lose love and become a mere student of words offering up argumentations of men from their doctrines.

it has exceptional applicability in numerous situations, possibly even to people who keep trying to offer you extra biblical literature.

Hi Q,
thats very true, but that doesnt mean each person followed that path, bible or no bible, you know the saying, "hes a genuinely good person etc".God gives us all a conscience, its up to us how and if we use it.

Religion is to be blamed for much negativity,proving it to be the teachings of men ( IMO most of them uninspired by anything but cold hard cash ).Even if whats included in the bible or other teachings has been tampered with ( yes we can read millions of books concerning textual criticsm - i have read some that were complete drivel, picking at points that hold no worth ) the message is similar. What draws the majority of people is the want of a better life, for some maybe escape, However the heart and mind are searching for something and its usually positive.

So some of those people in the times you speak of would have been genuine loving people even if misled, i dont believe God would destroy them for that or send them to a hell ( depending on your beliefs ) because they truly may have wanted to know God, I dont believe for one minute he is unrighteous enough to simply cast them aside when they have the love for him.

I believe not only those old religious leaders to be oppresive, but all of todays religions either try to be oppressive or leave their members to do as they please, believing being part of that religion will save them .I believe religion to be a product of Satan .

So regardless of religious books some poeple will accept Him ( God ) some wont, This is evident within humanity itself. The only way we ultimatley all answer these questions is after we die.

Luke 23:43 the NWT

luke 23:43 - and jesus said to him, "positively i say to you, today you will be with me in paradise.

nwt places comma here , giving a totally different meaning to the verse.

now the average jw uses this to back their doctrine and it seems in itself virtually impossible to reason with them on it.
