  Bethel Tour-long sorry

  i'm new as a member but have watched the site for a while.

  one of my kids, who lives in another part of the country, came for a summer visit from another state and asked to go on a bethel tour.

  she lives with her jw mother and is surrounded by jws and they even baptized her recently.

  I gave tours at bethel two days a week from 76' thru 79'. I was a tour guide at Mammoth Onyx Cave, Ky. for 2 years before going to Brooklyn, so I guess they thought that counted for something...

  The one big thing I remember about tours was all the young "babes" looking for husbands. Most were not even shy about why they were there either! Just looking for a good man, and as anyone knows, they are all in Brooklyn! What a joke!!

  I'm sure most guy who were at bethel back then could tell you some stories about all the parties, drinking (the first 3-4 times I got drunk was at bethel), girls, etc.

  And tours gave tips, big tips. Most witnesses on tour just wanted to be able to say that they knew someone at bethel.

  Most local witnesses would take a new bible study on tour as soon as possible. I knew one pioneer gal in New Jersey (for you guys she was smokin' hot too!) who would ask for me to be her tour guide with a new BS about once a month! I was such a naive idiot then.... GYMBB

  seems a lot of people are depending on everyone else to solve their problem.

  questions like who is jehovah, who is jesus, what is the truth, are some of the deep spiritual truths asked by all of us.

  however, the bible is the one to turn to when questioning.

  After spending 40+ years reading the bible, I can say I believe I know it pretty well. I mean after all, it's only ONE BOOK.

  I began actually learning about the book when I did research on who decided to put it together, and why.

  It's now my opinion that it is a collection of hebrew myths and fables. Almost every culture has one.....

  I grew a beard when I was still a dub.....caused a whole s***load of problems!

  It's one of the first things I did when I left, and my hair's over my collar too!!

  NEED HELP finding info on disassociating those who aren't active.....

  dear friends,.

  i need help finding when, how and where i might find that announcement..publication...where the new procedure was not to announce ones as being dfed..but now they were to be annnounced as "no longer one of jehovahs witnesses".

  with that change, it made it so that those who were not active could technically be announced.

  So if the elders ask you if you consider yourself a witness and you say yes....what do you do when they then offer you a bible study and you refuse? Can they DA or DF you for not accepting a study? Not really. But in my experience, if a body of elders want you DF'd there's not a damn thing you can do about it except lie, lie, lie. Tell them you're going thru some depression or have some personal family problems, etc.

  When I tried to fade, the buckaroo elders tried to DF me when I just wanted to be left alone. They pushed matters by asking probing questions and I was too dumb to not be honest with them, and in the end, I DA'd myself and moved on.

  If I knew then what I know now, things would be different. Gymbob

  " upwards of 70,000 attended to hear this message proclaimed in germany alone.

  the talk series had a longer title, "the world has endedmillions now living will never die.

  I DA'd myself almost 5 years ago.

  My son and daughter left with me, then their mom filed for divorce after being married 23 years. My ex-wife is about ready to have a nervous breakdown because the stupid witness cult teaches her that she shouldn't associate with her own kids anymore since they left "The Truth".

  She's trying to be a good little witness, but it's killing her. Stupid witness cult......

  But don't ever think that they break up families though! Can you feel the love?
