had any of you seen any demonstrators at bethel when you worked there?
i am curious as to what any of you thought of them when you seen them holding signs and passing out pamphlets to jws as they were all walking by.
if any had seen them, did they have any impact on your life in any way?
Back around 77'-78' there was a group who demonstrated in front of the 124 bldg. for several days in a row. They had a leader who said he was the prophet Jeremiah resurrected.
So one day at breakfast Schroeder reports to the bethel family what was going on because they were creating a pretty big scene each day.
He said the GB decided to meet with the leader, and after a few minutes they find out the guy is DF'd and wants Jehovah's witnesses to join them.
Wackos....
i attended the guided by gods spirit district convention this summer.
out of an abundance of caution (some may say paranoia), i will not elaborate further on when and where i feasted at jehovahs table.
my observations on the program are below.
Frankly, how do you sit through a convention without screaming out??

I know a religion in Brooklyn they can all join.......
i've had this theory for some time and alluded to it occassionally but have never explored it in detail.. it is of course a huge generalisation so no, not everyone will fit into the boxes and i'd like people's opinion.
i don't know everyone's circumstances so it's based on a small sample of some of those i do know something about.
it could be completely wrong, it's just an idea.. basically, i have seen a difference between some of those ex-jws who walked out vs those who were kicked out.. the most bitter and obsessive seem to be the kicked out and, i must add, those who were legitimately kicked out.
I don't think anybody really understands what being a witness means except someone who has been there/done that.
I have ex-dub friends who neverthink about JW's, even though being born and raised in it. And then some the other way.....
Also, I love the can of worms photo! One of the reasons this site is so needed! Gymbob

he got talking about the tetragrammaton, etc... one thing lead to another and i ended up yelling at him to answer "what happen to the generation of 1914?".
he claims to have never taught that armageddon would come before the generation that saw the events of 1914 passes away.
now, he didn't say the wts never taught that, he just said that he never taught that??
I think the one question that I like to ask is, "Is there anything that the WTS could do that would make them start to think they aren't who they claim to be?" ANYTHING??
If they say yes, then just ask them what that one thing would be. Now they are committed, and on the defense, where you don't want to be ( then show them how the WTS has probably already done whatever it is that should make them start to question).
If they say no, then simply explain to them that this is clear proof that they have been brain-washed, or at the very least need to be more open-minded. Gymbob

i know this sounds crazy however being raised a jehovah's witness gave me the tools of respect for my fellow man.
also my parents had a huge role as well,of course.. i just find today there are soo many twisted people who are amused by the sickest of circumstances and pride themselves on belittling people.i mean i am the first to say.
i love funny sarcasm and making fun of the jehovah's witness religion because i believe in my heart its a crazy cult and way out in left field.
I really believe I would have been better off without the witnesses in my life.
When you balance it all out.....
I would not have married someone based on their, "spiritual interests", but, on love, that....spark, and what we had in common.
I would have gotten a much better education, instead of thinking all I needed was the Awake magazine.
I would have planned for a career and retirement, instead of Armageddon.
I would stiil have a relationship with my family.
Frankly, I could go on all day with this list. The fact of the matter is, I wish I had never been a witness. Gymbob
