I was once told by an elder that "Worldly" is a witness slang term referring to someone who is not a witness....a term we do NOT use in front of them, because they are potential witnesses and we don't want to offend anyone.

Who was the biggest Jehovah's Witness rebel?
by slimboyfat inwho was raised a jw and went on to lead life in stark contrast to their upbringing?.
i have often thought the award should go to dwight eisenhower.
from a religion that railed against politics and warfare he first invaded western europe and then went on to become president of the united states.

Jesus' Sacrifice. You call that a sacrifice?

So you do believe that if someone doesn't accept that ransom death of the biblical Jesus then they are lost.(?) It's only a message of hope if a person accepts that, correct? If, on the other hand, a person chooses to believe differently then they would be considered.....what, if not lost?
I'm confused about this. It seems you want to say you believe in the bible, but then not admit that the bible teaches God will destroy you if you don't beleive in the ransom. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Gymbob

Good topic.....My wife asked me just today, "why would someone want to join that religion?"
I was a "born-in", but both of my parents had little or no bible knowledge, and were amazed at dubs who could show them from their own bible god's name (Ps. 83:18). Oh wow...what else is there that we didn't know about??

You don't have to belong to a religious organization to hold to a belief, wouldn't you agree?
If, as you say, you believe the bible is from God and Jesus died for our sins, etc., don't you also believe that people who don't hold to that same belief are lost? Bob

Nice post! But, I don't know about it all being sorted out in the end.....
Also, I didn't mean for it to sound like I was picking on christians, all religions (for the most part) believe they have the truth and everybody else is (again, for the most part)...wrong. Of coarse, just like the witnesses, they don't really like to say that outright....but it's the truth. Would you agree?

Oh man Hillbilly, don't get started on Tombstone...I went there a few years back for a weekend, it's still a pretty cool place to visit. I loved the movie too.

Thank you for responding. You may have all the latitude you wish! However, it brings up an interesting problem that I've experienced with christians.
I personally don't care what a person believes, you can believe that the moon is made out of cheese for all I care, as long as it doesn't affect others. For example, I don't care if my family are JW's, as long as it doesn't affect me (shunning). It's when people start treating me different because I don't believe the same as they do that starts to cause the problems. I don't like to be treated like I'm the one who's "lost", or, "just turned his back on God", and from what I've experienced, that's the way most christians view non-believers. Gymbob

I loved the show Deadwood...I visited my sister several years ago who lives in Deadwood, S.D., or at least she did a few years back when I was a dub and she would still talk to me!
But, I think room215 is right...Lonesome Dove and Unforgiven are suppose to be closer to the reality of that time. I've heard the same about Open Range.
Hillbilly, love your comments! Gymbob
