Its so that you can't look outside, and get distracted, thereby missing out on "spiritual food".

Why do Jehovah's Witnesses churches have no windows?
by Kenneson insomeone asked columnist phillip milano of the jacksonville, florida times union this very question.
you will find remarks of several individuals and the reasons they offer, ranging from deterrence to vandalism, to saving on air conditioning bills, etc.
even j.r. brown gives his two-cents worth and replies to critic paul blizzard.. http://www.jacksonville.com/tu-online/stories/080106/enm_4104779.shtml

DC, all but gave directions to the JWD site
by ocsrf in.
i found the dc very interesting this year do to my reading of this site.
i took note that the danger of the internet was menitioned no less than three times, once with a demonstration showing a brother who found a site by a innocent search of the web on a jw subject to the very last talk, concluding remarks and final "resolution" that consisted of 10 items with number 10 staying away from dangerous sites and chat rooms.. makes you wonder what the real story is behind that much attention being given to this problem iof theirs.. oc

Just remember that anyone can create their own web page and publish any information they want. If you use the proper "TAGS" - a google search will bring up your site guaranteed.
There is an abundance of BS on the net - buyer beware.

by Country Girl ini met this man in texas that is a witness.
we talked for several hours, but what he really was focusing on was the un involvement.

It's 10:30am on a convention morning...
by undercover in...do you know where your faders are, watchtower society?.
i just glanced at my watch and realized that if i was still active, i'd be sitting in a coliseum fighting falling asleep listening to some elder drone on and on, but here i am posting on an "apostate" message board.
how cool is that?

I remember years ago the conventions were 12 hour days for 4 days in a row, not three.

Legal question
by In Between inmy x wants my 9 year old daughter to get baptized.
my x claims that my little girl bugs her all the time to get baptized.
i told my x no, she's too young.

For me, baptism was about PEER PRESSURE - you know - that thing that JW's are supposed to avoid. Its very tough for a young person to see all their friends getting baptised, makes you feel left out or inferior, not making the grade.

Johnny Quest was my favorite cartoon and RaceBannon is a good alias to have. I should clarify that I have cut ties with my "girlfriend". We are still friends but thats all.
The cat is out of the bag so to speak and I won't lie about the relationship. I'll let it run its course, and if they df me then so be it. Thanks for the responses.
I must say I am SHOCKED by all the responses. How many X's are out there? Must be a lot. I won't call you apostates or anything, I promise. I think the Witnesses have some truth, but not all, which of course, you cannot question or show doubt.

I am very much an adult - over 30. I think I want to be disfellowshipped so I an get closure, rather than disassociating.
Why do you say I can't be df'd if away for 3 years. I have never heard that.
