when i was in the truth i thought that the most ludicrous and petty ruling they ever introduced and still practiced is that congregation book study conductors were and are responsible for collecting every group members report.
surely every member ought to be responsible for his/her own actions.
at the beginning of the following month and certainly before the 5th i would always receive the stupid telephone call from the secretary are you aware that 3 publishers havent reported?
I once falsified a whole year on reporting...not that I went out much anyway but I was in high school and would rather have taken a bath with pirhanas than go out in the field serv ice. All the rules were daft, but the one I remember most vividly is when I was really small I was ordered not to eat Tootsie Rolls.

I can see your point with the "may involve", however I think that the WT is guilty of putting the suggestion into people's minds to begin with by using cleverly phrased words and suggestions. If it turns out to be right, they take credit..if not, then the members have "read too much into it."

I live in PA and work in court quite a bit and I can tell you that the other driver is at fault, or more at fault. The insurance companies should battle it out and perhaps you should add collision on to your policy in the future, but if there's that much money at stake, I would fight it out.

i don't know if any of you really want to hear this, so if not please stop reading here.. i told a few of you about a guy i have been seeing for the past few months.
well, i found out that he has been seeing other women, and i spoke to him last night and tried to break it off with him.
he didnt want to hear it.

I am in the same situation as you...been seeing a guy for a few months and now his "disclaimer" (his words, he's a bloody lawyer)is that he told me about the what I thought was ex-girlfriend two hours away and that he thought he still had feelings for her AFTER we slept together. AND he hadn't seen her for a few months, decides to go get his stuff in her shed (yeah, right) and then ends up staying there for the night...but, oh, he didn't sleep with her and he still didn't get his "stuff". All this after he pursues me madly for months. But why do they think it's okay as long as they are "honest." And now it's the I'm confused stuff which doesn't really fly with smart women like us.
A letter is a nice gesture from you but don't think it's going to mean a pile of beans to him quite frankly if he's the type I suspect he is. Know what I did to make me feel better????
I took the beanie seal he proudly delivered to my office the other week, (knows all the tricks, this one does!) attached a homemade Men are Bastards collar to it, wrapped a rubber band around its neck and hung it from my file cabinet. Seemed appropriate since I named it after him anyway. Now I can't help but smile every time I walk over to my filing cabinet......

i was kind of taken aback and said that i would think about it.
obviously, i have no intention of going, but should i just say nothing, say no, or just say i don't agree with the jw doctrine at all and to attend would be hypocritical of me?
Thank you everyone for your feedback. Think I am going to politely decline. It just doesn't feel right and I don't want to get their hopes up or anything, having them think that I'll return! Plus I know they'll all talk about me anyway!
