  Going to write to my mom

  i want to write to my mom to tell her of some of the things that led me to fade.

  i think if it's written in a kind and loving way she will read it and i may plant a few seeds of doubt in her mind.

  i don't want to bombard her with too much info, but give her enough food for thought.

  After my research into the WTS and subsequent discoveries,I decided to confront my wife with the evidence. Most of the time it ended in argument and her not wanting to here anything negative about the org.That was when I decided to write her a letter instead. In it I outlined the change to the baptismal questions,the UN scandal,1914 generation issue and touched on some personal experiences in the cong. I found by doing this I avoided arguments and it forced her to contemplate on what was written in the letter.

  Glad to say that she is starting to see the real truth about the Watchtower now. The blinkers are slowly coming off.

  Been gone awhile.(Rough past few three months)

  i have'nt been here for awhile.the family and i went through a very rough time over the past three months.most of it has been jw related and how negatively the teachings have affected a brother of my wife who has been diagnosed with bipolar.however,that i will leave for a different discussion.we have managed to pull through it all and we are slowly picking up the pieces.

  i am also hard at work putting the final touches to my book.i will keep you posted on the release date.

  this past weekend i stepped into a kingdom hall after more than two years.i attended a jw funeral of a friend who was not a jw.his family are all jws and i was actually surprised that permission was given to them to have it conducted in the kingdom hall.halfway through the talk i got up and walked out of the hall.i could not bare to listen to the pathetic reasoning laid out by the elder during his talk.hardly any comfort was given to the family in the talk.as one other poster mentioned,it all become just one big jw presentation and "sales talk".this was probably done because of the many non-jws that were in attendance.

  Discrimination

  As I am from South Africa and Coloured, need I say more. Growing up in apartheid South Africa, racial discrimination was of cause the norm. As I am Coloured, I very often experienced racial discrimination from fellow White dubs in a neighbouring congregation. This, however,was from a limited few and the majority were quite tolerent.

  Thanks for your encouragement so far guys.I really do appreciate it.My life is taking on new meaning and direction. I am so glad to realise that I can draw inspiration and encouragement from you here on the board.

  Friends!

  Today has been one of those days for me.Feeling very down and depressed. I feel I need to talk to someone about what I am going through coming out of the borg.What has been a source of release for me is the writing of my book,which chronicles my journey through the Watchtower. The publisher I am working with has been a great source of encouragement and inspiration. I am hoping to have it on the shelves by mid March 2007.Then there are you guys here on the forum that has also been a great source of encouragement and inspiration. I do not post much but seeing how you all deal with issues and the support you give others really uplifts me.Now I know I am not alone.

  Finding out that you were living a lie for so long can be devastating to many. I will however pick myself up again. I intend to reach as many as I can with my book and experience,especially here on the African continent.

  What was the reason why you were never made an elder or Ministerial Servant

  the reason i heard constantly by the elders, as to ones spiritual progress in the organisation was, .

  "brothers are appointed by holy spirit.".

  if this is the case, why is god speaking to himself when he says in 1 tim 3 v 6 .not a newly converted man, for fear that he might get puffed up with prideetc.. to re-iterate if god appoints elders, why would he give himself this advice ???.

  I was not to regular in the house to house preaching activity.I was not very fond of it.However,I used to give talks regularly on the ministry school,mostly the No.4 talk. Glad I was never made a servant though.

  Should I DA myself or not?

  this is my first post, some of you have read my hubby's story - agent smith - anyway i was just wondering if i should write a letter to disassociate myself or just leave things as they are.

  i have not been to meetings for about 8yrs but have only just come to realize what a load of rubbish the jw's teach.

  now that i have read "crisis of conscience" i have no doubt that jw's are corrupt.
