Map of where we all are.
by wanderlustguy inhttp://www.frappr.com/xjws .
don't know if this is done already, but here is a pretty neat way for us all to map out where we are so if anyone is travelling, they know who is in the area...if anyone thinks this is a good idea, feel free to click and update!
edited to add...it has chat, too.

What is your town or area's claim to fame?
by free2beme inevery where you live, the local area has something about it that is either famous for something good or something bad.
as an example, you go to one town and it may have the historial site of a famous war battle.
you go to another an it might be the place something was invented, or the birthplace of someone famous.

Theme park
by helios inhow long will it be before the wt sets up a theme park.
with all that money from the sale of brooklyn property it would be a shame not to use it for some other cash generating scheme.
we could have the hall of the presidents with robotic figures all driven by hot air.. why not the beth sareem experience.

Of course, no JW theme park would be complete without the pandering to the pedophile dollar. Every restroom will have hidden cameras and there will be comfortable, soundproof areas underneath the park to entertain the young "guests."

I miss the "free" food.
by Justice-One infree food.
it used to make the conventions almost bearable.
i rememeber telling the wife and kids to not put anything in any contribution box, because as the head of the family, i had taken care of it.

Would I really want to be in the "new world" anyway...
by hartstrings inthis morning in the shower i was thinking about why it is that jw's preaching (like i used to do) about a paradise with no wickedness really bothers me.
if jw's are right and god is going to destroy the majority of people so that just those who happened to live at the right time, in the right place, etc.
can live forever with a couple of men telling me, a woman what to do, no thanks.

Are you SURE you don't want to play with pandas for all eternity? Come on now...surely you don't want to miss out on the baby tigers and koalas. Not to mention the fun work of cleaning up God's worldwide mess!

I was young enough to remember the last days of the danishes and orange juice. Those danishes were the bomb. Then all of a sudden, the food was gone and was lauded as a "simplified arrangement." Bastards.

My experience w/ the JW secretary at my office
by looking_glass ini believe i have mentioned before, i works w/ a lunatic jw.
this is the same woman who will not go by a shorter version of her name because as she told me in front of some fellow co-workers once i found the truth, i put on the new personality and the fruitages of the spirit, so i go by my full name now.
alrighty then..

Looking glass, I imagine if this whacko chick had friends, she'd be the Mother Hen keeping everybody in line at social events, and doing all the cockblocking.
Maybe she wanted to be your secretary so she could intercept the flow of apostate literature that must be coming to you!!! -

I don't think causing a scene at any witness activity, like conventions, are going to do you any good. At the last DC, there was a single guy just standing there with a sign. (Funny thing: my dad wanted to kick him in the ass when he bent over his truck!) Just put out your message. I can tell you that people glanced at his sign. I snuck a peek at it when I wasn't walking with family, and I could tell at least a couple people looked at it. IMHO it was effective because he didn't cause people to throw up a wall to his message.
Now, two DC's ago, there were people actively walking around the stadium with little cross and crown tracts. People were annoyed by them, and they got hassled by dub security guys. They didn't work because their approach played right into what a dub would like to avoid. They had kids walking around with bright neon signs, and people were annoyed. You can't assault a dub's mind like that head-on.
