I have a profound distaste for embedded pages that have sound.
I also just found out why I can't quote anything or make smilies: this forum is not very Firefox-friendly. Thankfully I have IE Tab, but otherwise...
im sorry.
i try not to beotch very much but am i the only one on the board who hates it when someone posts an embedded page?.
this button in the toolbar good.

take a look at this nutty mormon video.... http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=-4731328707513660562&q=mormons.
oh the glorious advancement of the "stakes", la de da.... wonder if it will give the society ideas for a presentation.
set to "hail the theocracy ever increasing, wondrous expansion is now taking place..." .
It looks like herpes spreading across the world...
i'm posting this not as a criticism, but as a perspective from a non-jw.
most christians would be sooooo boggled by the complete obsession with historical dates that jw's can argue back and forth about for ever it seems!
i'm not voicing an opinion here about whether there is merit to it or not.
Well said, VM. Get rid of the dates, and you get rid of the immense urgency, which the Org. needs to drive the r&f.
no, i'm not looking for a job, but i need to know how much they pay.
i want accurate info for my speech.
My P.O. suggested that I should go to Bethel. "After all, it's the safest place to be this side of this system of things," he said.
To this day, they've still got kids saying they want to go there. These kids are better off slinging burgers at McDonalds; at least that pays more, and you'll have a lesser chance of coming in contact with a child molestor like Jesus M. Cano...
my first post.
i'm new posting, but i feel like i now everybody here since i have been reading this forum since last year.
ok. to the thing: i would like to know if somebody here has a copy of the watchtower april 15, 1928 page 162, where it talks about that the bible has mistakes.
Wow, Black Sheep, I can't believe I missed this jackpot of old book scans! I'm going to dl every one...this is TOO GOOD!
i've seen soooo many witnesses taking meds or alcohol because of unhappiness and depression.
i know of one woman who regularly gos to her shrink and is the most depressed person that i know of.
personally, i believe it's because a jw can never do enough to satisfy god or the elders....what do you think?
Sir, that's depressing.

Yeah, I gotta get out of the house. But don't worry, we all learn to deal. I feel bad for other kids in my hall who have a lot more issues on their plate than...getting the blues every so often.
On the plus side, my family has a really good sense of humor. Depressed people make the best comedians.
i just stepped out into my back yard and thought i was going to melt.
i was going to fill up the inflatable pool for my son, but by the time it gets filled up, the water will be about 90 and not worth the bother.
i'm sure that other california people can relate to this.
Dang Gumby, I feel bad for ya. :(
You know what's even worse? For some reason, a pregnant sister decided to go out preaching today. Poor sister...stay home! Think about your own welfare, not selling magazines!
the latest release, live with jehovah's day in mind, states on page 107:a christian who loves kindness will certianly not exploit his fellow worshippers.
for example, he realises that it would be neither proper nor kind to start a business or promote an investment scheme that targets felllow believers as the main customers.
it would display greed, which christians are warned against, to plan on making money hastily by exploitng fellow christians.
Hmm, I can think of at least one company that the uppity folk in my hall by supplies from. Madzay, I think it is. They make little covers for texts, holders for brochures and tracts, and so forth. I guess they have to go out of business now...?

I know, today was grossly hot. I agree, San Diego should not be this hot. I want a return on my sunshine tax, sure, but this is just...Oklahoma status. Miserable without a breeze.
I think we're going to see a movie this afternoon, just to sit somewhere air-conditioned.
.
i remember going to meetings at the hall, and when the meeting was over, i wanted to leave right away, and not see a jw t'il the next meeting.. i thought of this thread because i see so many witnesses having lunch together after meetings and many seem to always want to be together even when the meetings are over.. i never did like this closed circle of jw's.
.
For most of the young people, and a goodly amount of others, being a witness is a convenient social network. I can name at least three or four young people who don't care about meetings; they just go to meet up with people and do something afterward. Or they go because they have to.
