  Just got ahold of "secret elders meetings" notes.

  cant say how,but i am in possession of about 10 years worth of elders meetings notes.financial info,personal lists,signed letters etc.disfellowshipping meeting minutes,the works.it is unbelieveable.some of the note are "investigate so and so,she was seen at a movie,talk to sister so and so about her weight,investigate the matter between so and so and so and so etc.

  letters from circuit servant visits w/recommendatons.anyone got any ideas?there are even minutes of a meeting in which some of the elders "had words"...all in glorious initialed and signed paper.numbers,names,contributions..what should i do with this "blessing from hohoba?

  Make copies and send them to the people who were spoken about in the meetings. They should be entitled to a copy.

  Finally-Free's right. The victims need to know what has been written about them. You might just open some eyes with this sort of thing. As much as I'd love to read the notes first, those people should find out what their "caring, loving" elders think about them. Photocopy them, and give those copies out first.

  After you do that, here's how you get the goods to us:

  1. Scan the files. I recommend TIFF or PNG format, but you can use JPEG to save some space.

  2. Make sure the sensitive info (names, addresses, etc.) is blacked out. Use MS Paint if you have to.

  3. Compile your censored scans into a zip file. I prefer 7Zip but WinRAR is fine.

  4. File uploading sites are a dime a dozen on the internet. One which hasn't given me much of a hassle is sendspace.com. Upload your zip file to sendspace, and give us all the link.

  JW therapist????

  i read on a facebook thread some talking about going to a jw therapist, i didnt't know there were any.

  i remember a young girl that da and my mother blamed it on a "worldly" therapist.

  knowing what i know of her family it had to be the best decision of her life.. .

  JW therapists are out there....very rare, but out there. I know some elders advised my folks to go and see a JW marriage counselor (as in, someone who had the education to counsel couples on marriage). My folks are still together, so I guess it worked...

  Do You Believe The USA Will Have Another 9/11???

  on another thread i stated that i didnt get braces for my teeth as a child as my parents believed that the ns would be here soon.

  I guess the times have changed because I know many sisters that have undergone "improvements" to a certain area of their body. Or maybe its because Jehovah will give their kids new teeth, but maybe he won't give them bigger ta-tas?

  I didn't see any cartoonishly busty women on those tract worlds, so my guess is that a bigger rack is not covered by the NooSistum Magical Regeneration Plan.

  Shame, too. Think of all the men they could snag if they started putting that carrot for potential male converts!

  I think the only way to prevent 9/11's is to inspire fear in whoever would try to harm this country. Right now I'm not sure that such fear is being inspired as much as it was in the past.

  A Hypothetical DA Letter for Faders

  i feel there are some weaknesses in the legal defenses that the watchtower society uses when enforcing shunning on former members.

  one is that they claim that getting baptised makes someone a jehovah's witness and implies that they are willing to live by watchtower rules.

  however, they don't use baptism as the criteria for counting their members.

  WTS publication: Mankind's Search for God

  at the end of the 80's the wts published "mankind's search for god", about the global mainstream religion's.. what's your opinion about this publication?.

  i think it was written for use on the weekly bookstudy, there were questions for all paragraphs.. after the publication it was never used at the bookstudy, and it was only rarely used in the congregation.. .

  I thought that book was totally awesome! I remember looking through the gory pictures as I kid. I still think it's the most fascinating, informative book ever published by the Borg. It was way cool to see the pictures of Durga and Chinese hell.

  why is 'pioneering' a 'privilege' when every jw goes out in ministry anyway.

  even those who have lost privileges, or been disciplined, or been reinstated after being disfellowshipped are still expected to go out in the ministry.

  I can't imagine doing THAT in my wildest dreams.....

  putting on a three piece suit to spend a 90 degree summer day knocking on doors and trespassing!dragging an entire family, including babies and young children to three or four day meetings in an outdoor stadium, living in a seedy motel room for the week.getting home from work and spending the next six hours cramming for a 'theocratic review', getting the entire family ready to go, gulping down dinner, and speeding off to the hall, and then finally getting home around 11 pm, hurrying off to bed so that everyone could get up for work and school in the morning!going to school to explain to the teachers why little johnny can't color pictures of santa, salute the flag of his country, eat birthday cake with all the other 5 year olds, bow his head when prayer is offered, or exchange valentines with all the cute 5 year old girls in class.

  and then explaining with grace why he is not immersed in a cult!well, on and on!

  these things were typical of my witness life - now i cannot imagine ever doing such silly things, and especially thinking that somehow they would bring pleasure to my god!.

  I was not quite 6 in 1951 when we drove from Southern California to the 8 day NY Intl. Convention at Yankee Stadium. We could not afford motels or restaurants on the way, (4 adults and 3 children) in an old Ford sedan. We pulled off in the bushes behind billboards, set up cots then roasted and ground raw wheat. We had canned condensed milk to put on it so it could be swallowed. Breakfast was the same, then back in the car for another 500 mi day. One evening we pulled off the highway in the St Louis area near the Mississippi river. Hot, humid and dark, then the mosquitos swarmed. Mom got me and my little sister up on a cot and we stayed under a wool army blanket and slapped the whining mosquitos that buzzed our ears. We got eaten alive.

  When we got there we set up tents in the New Jersey bogs "Tent City" where the program was piped in (incomprehensible) from the stadium in NY City. The huge camp was set up in a grid with Bible name streets. It rained everyday and the mud was knee deep for me. Bales of straw were brought in to help keep our sleeping pallets out of the mud. We had plywood cold water latrines with gang showers and the toilets were holes in a long bench over a pit of buzzing flies. Bare bulbs in the ceiling were always swarming with bugs.

  Went through the about the same thing again in '53.

  For some reason I can't get the quote to turn off, but wow! Gregor, I don't think I'll be able to complain about anything. You survived Tent City!
