by doublelife incan anyone help me with a quote from a publication studied in '09 that had a box that said jws leave over selfish reasons but not over doctrine?
i think it was studied in the bs but i can't find it and i already tried the search feature.
i remember someone posted about it at the time it was studied.

JAPAN Bethel downsizes with layoffs!
by Alligator Wisdom intwenty+ year veteran japanese bethelites sent to the field as special pioneers.
i don't have the exact number laid off.
however, there are a total of 550+ members at the ebina branch, so if the trend reflects the same as in the u.s. and europe branches, then we can assume at least between 10% - 20%.. in order to counterbalance the need for a work force but without having to incur expenses by housing and feeding them, japan bethel is considering opening the door to "commuting bethelites".

Wow, that's really got to hurt for these Japanese Bethelites, if the commentary on the cultural context is accurate. Mega dittos on Fark's observation, too. I thought Jah would be speeding up the work as the end neared....? Sounds like Jah's downsizing to remain solvent for the long haul!

Prince wrote a Kingdom Melody for the Minnesota Vikings
by hemp lover inon local sports radio this morning, they played "purple and gold", a song prince was inspired to write after the vikings embarrassed the cowboys last sunday.
it sounds like a kingdom melody to me.
some of the lyrics refer to eyes being raised as a veil lifts in the sky, heavenly thrones, swords in hand, war, truth will be told.

by highdose ini always found it very patronising, particulay as most of the jw's who did that treated me very badly and not like a sister at all!.
i also hated when brothers would say " i've met a lovely sister and i'm planning to marry her!
" sounds so incestuous!

I always thought it interesting that the message when I was much younger was, "You could serve for the rest of your life at Bethel." When I got older, that message never got played to the young people. Then it became, "Try it out," and "Serve for a year or two."
But now it seems there's a law behind it. Any more details you can give us, hamsterbait?

New Songbook: Pedantic Piano Practise?
by metatron inok, the new songbook has gotten rid of some pretty awful lyrics about molested bees and nazarites, etc.
but after listening to several of the songs played at the kingdumb hall, all the songs started ------ to-------sound--------like-------this.
one careful paused note per syllable as if the whole songbook was published to help teach children learn how to play piano.. we can't expect "amazing grace" from these hacks, i guess.

Any Ideas on the Next "Big Thing" that Will Bring the Watchtower Down?

also near the end of the show, richard rawe says "something extra big" is about to happen that will take watchtower "down," something bigger even than their pedophile scandal and the u.n. connections scandal put together.
he says he can't spill the beans yet, but the something is definitely coming.

I am skeptical of any "big thing" that will "take down the WT." I've been too gullible in the past, but not anymore. I would love to see some sort of scandal which permanently alters the way they do business from now on, but I won't hold my breath in anticipation.
