wtf is wrong with people in walmart?

I think people have the opinion that Walmart is the place to go and let the kids have a good "cry"! What is with all the crying and screaming kids in there? I feel like going over to the parents and saying something about how rude it is to other people to just let the kids go on and on and on....that really gets me!!!! Here lately, I just get in and out as fast as I can!
People are rude every where you go anymore!!!

Hey, I'd be crying if I were in Wal-Mart too. That place is sooo depressing. I went in there to get some cheap deals, but I think I'll just go to the swap meet if I want cheap stuff. One of my aunts moved to a small town in Pennsylvania and was upset because the only good store in town is the Wal-Mart.

i'm talking about the new posters, like kitten whiskers, who started posting today (hope this works: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/120817/1.ashx).

and it seems like we're getting a few like this nearly every day.

people who were raised jws, really worry that they are doing the right thing in leaving, yet who have been made to feel not good enough by the wts, who felt they never measured up, who struggled with it, but came to realize that what they'd been brought up to believe was just not the truth.. the same stories are told over and over again, and they come from sincere, good people - not whiny, fault-finding apostates like the rest of us riffraff around here!

Becca, your story got me right in the ticker. I never had to pioneer while in school, but I hope no child has to go through that nonsense either. My heart lies heavy for all the victims of this foolish concept.

i recall a girl i had never met before who was crying (after we talked for a while) for being shunned by another local congo, and i thought that it was too cruel to shun people and something was not right with the jws.

Haven't had any epiphanies while out in FS. But last Saturday led the group out, and I started into my spiel at the door about the "Are We In the Last Days?" watchtower. I did okay for a minute. The guy identified himself as a Christian and said, "Yeah, but haven't there been people who said it was the end of the world all throughout history? So what does your saying it now prove?"

And of course, he is absolutely right. "Yeah. You have a good point. Okay, you have a nice day."

I really hoped the older sister next to me wouldn't get on my case for not trying to disprove him, but she didn't say a word.

i had my circuit assembly last weekend.

it was absolutely mind numbing, but i took extensive notes, and i thought i'd share the key points with everyone here for your reading pleasure.. .

This could be any assembly, in any year. Same examples, same thoughts, same exhortation. "Food at the proper time"? More like "photocopies at the assigned time."

Thanks for the analysis, Zico. You won't have to do another one...it's all the same, year after year. Quit your job! Pioneer! You'll get a "miracle check" for the exact amount you need!

At our CAs there are no more than 6 people up for baptism (at least the last ones I can remember), most of them dub-raised kids finally taking the plunge.

after going to this years district convention.

it seems the gb knows it's over.

i don't think the gb thinks that the watchtower is going to make it to 2014. everything was so see thru a blind could of seen thru it, and to top it off the drama sucked.

Smells like simmering ham. I'm not kidding, there's the smell of baking flesh because San Diego's is still out in the sun.

What shocked you first, into realizing the world was not like the JW's?

i left the witnesses in 1997. i was trying to make new friends and met some people through the gym.

my spouse and i went to their house for some dinner, and we thought it would be a great time.

also, we wanted to get to know people that were not witnesses and get a foot-hold into our new life.

Suddenly someone brings out some pot, and offers us some. I thought about it, decided "no thanks", did that as a teen and not wanting to do that again. Then I get up to get another beer and this woman was getting her METH ready to shoot up in a spoon and looking all wasted. I set there watching her shot up, and thinking to myself "Your deffinetly not a Witness anymore." It was kind of a shock, and to be honest, to this day I am often still shocked at how screwed up some people are with drugs and sex. I guess the sheltered life I lived was not always bad. My spouse and I, never went back to their house and although we are not Witnesses, maintain a strict view on things like Meth. Pot does not bother me, Meth makes me mad.

Sounds like a watchtower study experience that would otherwise lead you to a "remorseful repentance" and a promise to support the ministry full-time from now on.

Yeah, meth is insane. I would've left that house right away.

What Message is the GB Giving Mature Ones at Bethel With a Massive Lay Off?

i wonder how this is effecting the morale of those mature ones still at bethel?

the governing body is in effect telling every one there you are all just pieces of shit to us(gb) and we can get rid of you any time we want because you are all just pieces of shit to us.

Last bookstudy the conductor (ex-bethelite) jokingly said that I "didn't know it yet, but [I] was going to shipped off to Bethel" to work on cars. Even though I rock my mask well, I didn't laugh with others when he cracked the joke. No thanks; I don't want to get any closer to Jesus Cano types. Besides, I'd just be kicked to the curb when the next wave of downsizing hits.

when i read back over it, i figured it need a thread of its own.. the first part of the puzzle is in appendix 1d of the nwt reference bible.

they list all "237 places where the name jehovah occurs in the main text of the new world translation of the christian greek scriptures.

Could the Watchtower handle a huge increase in numbers?

now imagine if 10 or 20% of people became jw's.

I've been thinking lately about the recent thread discussing the Awake! where blood is mentioned as "an organ" 4 times in the 1 paragraph. That's amazing and I am really starting to get the feeling the Org. is prepping up to change the bloody policy, do away with it completely by making it a "matter of conscience"....because blood is an "organ" and is not used by the body as food when transfused.

I really, really can't see them using the "blood is an organ" bit to segue into an abolition of the current blood policy. The mindfunk that the r&f would experience would be too great too risk.

I will add though, that if such a fantastic situation were to occur, it would provide an excellent "flashpoint" disagreement for me to exit. But again, never could I see them ever reversing the blood policy.

Would you feel safe traveling to the Middle East as a tourist?

one of my dreams is to one day making to cairo egypt and see the great pyramids.

i want to see a lot of things in that area, as well as other parts of israel, and the middle east region.

i have been into history, for as long as i can remember.

That said, I worked in Iran a few years ago and loved the place. I found the 'man in the street' very hospitable and friendly. Its like anywhere, a few rotten eggs spoil it for the majority. Eyeslice
