Since their founding most of their understandings have developed from their interpretation regarding knowing the exact date of the end of the current system of things, which they believe to be March 21, 2008.
Even the WTS learned to stop fixing dates. Too funny, and too sad....

I've already been given the title of "Little Big Elder," and am repulsed by that, so...I want a better one: Br. Façade.

Gumby needs our prayers
by oldflame inabout 5 months ago gumby had a knee operation, it never healed and the doctors here suck in a big way.
so yesterday he and his wife went south to get a second opinion and maybe get this knee surgery healed up.
so if you got it in you please pray for his speedy recovery and healing.

I've had knee surgery, not really major, but the recovery was a bear. You are in my prayers, Gumby, and I certainly hope someone competent can patch you up! If that fails, a good spritz of WD-40 will work in a pinch.

Wow, good ON you!!! I wish you were one of my little brothers, they're clones.
And so, are you getting yourself a good education?
I'm going to community college for automotive technology training. It's one of the things I could see myself doing, though really I had my eyes set on going to a university, or pursuing music, as I have done for many years. R6Laser, I'm suprised higher education was so freely allowed in your congregation! I'm really jealous. Here the PO believes in vocational training, so what I do does not upset him. But making plans to go to a 4-year, and get a real degree? You'd better not talk about doing that out loud around here! Even so, what if I work hard at it and eventually become a Master Tech, making respectable money? That's no good around here either. Takes away too much time from FS.
A very interesting reception id say. I guess they were stunned into silence. Next time I suggest you wear suspenders and stockings under your suit trousers. They wont know, but it might make your words seasoned with sauce! (plus I like thinking about the image - go on, do it for me!)
LOL...Like the Rocky Horror Picture Show? My dear, I'm afraid I'm not man enough to try that yet! That would be real courage. Last night I was quite tired and I forgot to mention it, but I want to thank EVERYONE for their encouraging comments and advice! I'm so glad to see you guys have my back as I make the dangerous journey out of the Tower. After tonight's demonstration, I am emboldened to speak my mind a little more from the platform, yet always careful not to say too much. Next on the agenda will be to work the Commentary of James into a talk.

Dear Sir...,
couple things. Are you an MS? Is this talk a #2?
Also, if you are putting more emphasis on Jesus in some of your talks,...what is your belief towards Him?
Good luck.
Yes, I am 21, and an MS. It was the bible highlights. As for putting more emphasis on Jesus, if you're really a Christian, this is what you will do naturally. I have not transformed into a full-fledged "Jesus freak" but I make sure he gets mention whenever possible. The WTS plan to cut out Jesus from everyday talk is working like a charm, and I am really saddened by this. They should stop trying to pretend to Christians...they are Jehovists, or Sacred Namists, whatever floats your boat. There is freedom in being a Christian, somehow, and I am going to find out how.
That book and the commentary have been more trouble than the society can handle. They have been trying to remove it from the library for at least the last 10 years. CO and DO have been told to suspect anyway who makes reference to the book as trouble. Anyone who quotes some of the sage advise in the commentary will be dismissed out of hand and put in the CO's little black book.
I do like the book of James. I am going to quote that commentary whenever possible, based on tonight's reaction to my little test.
btw...can you be my son?
Absolutely, mama! (((codeblue)))
Sirnose must still be receiving council in the back of the Hall.
Heh, no that didn't happen! But I will tell everyone this...it was of course, quite silent in the audience. I had rapt attention from everyone. How couldn't they? I talked about things they didn't know, like the gist of Mazlow's Hierarchy of Needs (starving man can't be spiritual, etc.). I praised getting a good education, like Daniel and Paul received. I think I saw some heads nod on that one. Normally I get gushing comment after gushing comment, no matter what talk I give, because I am regarded as some sort of "future CO." After the meeting, I only got one comment. Everyone else had NOTHING to say to me about my part. They weren't upset. It just seemed as if I had never been up there. I would like no comments from people unless I knock it out of the park, so tonight I got what I wanted. There was only one comment from this brother who was a substitute teacher; not a mover or shaker in the congregation scene. He was very appreciative of my shout out to people who educate others, or those who go out and get a good education. Nothing from the school overseer. Nothing from my parents. I'm thinking that in everyone's mind, it was an anomaly to hear what I had to say, but not threatening. Now, if I were really ballsy, I would say there is nothing wrong with higher education. I'm not THAT crazy. But tonight's test data was encouraging: it's definitely more liberal than other congregations. So where do we go from here? I was expecting a slightly stronger reaction. Next time, I'm gonna rep the Commentary on James, and rock the boat a little more.

Well, real quick before I have to get ready for work:
I don't have a concealable tape recorder. Sorry gang. As for how much the boat is going to be rocked...well, let's just say this: I am going to say that people who voluntarily feed others or make it their work to take care of others should be praised. I'm using Proverbs 22:9 for that. Innocent enough, I should think. It'll be backed up by a reference to James 1:27. The second point will be based on Proverbs 24:5, 6. I'm going to say that those who have taken time to get a good education (won't say the word "higher") are to be commended because education teaches you how to think logically as well as learn a skill, and mental strength is valuable. When competent people take the lead, we are blessed, when incompetence leads, etc.
I punched up a few lines last night in about 45 minutes and I'm at work all day so I don't have time to change anything. I'm thinking that I MIGHT get some clucks of disapproval from people, but I have a few things to back that up. The scriptures say that anyone is blessed who shares their food, and that a multitude of wise counselors is good, so I'm going to run with my interpretation.
After this talk, I'm not going to push the envelope night after night...but I feel like testing the waters and tonight shall be it. I mean, in other talks I speak heavily in praise of Jesus (not mentioning the Father), and I haven't gotten talked to yet. I need to know where the roof is before I break on through to the other side.

I'm still in because for one, I haven't gotten out the house. That needs to happen first. Secondly, all my friends are still in, not to mention immediate family and grandparents.
I'm in because I'm trapped. If I up and left tomorrow, the bottom would drop out of everything, and I'd be vulnerable, just like the Borg wants. My mask is on, but I feel like dropping it...just slightly...to see what happens. Now of course, you can't outright say what you want in a talk...but the hints will be there. And it will not be the typical WTS line.

It's time to push it that envelope.
Update after the talk.
