  Were You Ever In The Congregation Clique?

  There was a young'ns clique that I did things every so often with, but I didn't have a full membership, because I was a year or two older than everyone. I didn't get invites to their more notorious hangouts, and I would hear about it later, and how the party would be the subject of an elder's meeting or JC. In a way it was nice because I could just freely go between them and any other group, really.

  Today this young'ns clique is not really around all that often--a few demotions here and there, and their influence is more or less gone.

  Watchtower logo on side of kingdom hall

  my old kingdom hall has the watchtower logo built into the brick work on the side that faces the road - to me for a hall that is supposed to be dedicated to god, its a bit wrong to have a corporation logo on the side of it.

  maybe its there to show they and not the congregation own it???

  The only jw related tie tacks I ever saw had the tetragrammaton on them. In fact, back in the San Diego area, a sister in our hall was big into china painting. She did all of the tetra tie tacks for everyone around. Any hall you went to in the SD area, you were bound to run into one of her "works."

  Hmm, never heard about this sister...but tell me more and I'll see what I can find.

  Yeah, I had one of those Borgtower clips. After my mental awakening, that was the first thing to go.

  for those still "in", how did this part go over in your congregation?

  we actually had a brother raise his hand and comment that he could not explain to a doctor why we allow fractions and obey the command of levitucus to pour blood out on the ground.

  i wonder how many others felt the same but did not have the never to comment openly?

  The meeting on this part is tomorrow, but thankfully I'll be at school. I doubt there would be any fireworks--no feisty oldtimers--but I would love to get people to notice the inconsistencies...

  i am begining to think it is more when, than if now.

  i think if it isn't over the removal of the bush.

  then those 30% of people that never wanted him to leave will try to either force thier neo-conservative agenda (facist borderline nazi) or suceed the union (again it's mainly the same people in those idiot southern states that want him to stay)(by the way yes i'm in one of them and yes they are idiots and so am i).

  Actually, many people believe the first civil war in the US never ended.

  There was a great book about that, which I started reading in high school but never finished...it was called "Confederates in the Attic," and it was about the author's journey around the South and how in some people's minds, the Civil War has never really ended.

  when i stopped going to meetings i immediately found myself spending more time with my kids.

  no sunday/monday evenings preparing talks.

  That time crunch is getting to me too...I juggle FT work, school, and being an MS. Granted, some people have more on their plates, but this all happened in a short time period. They use me a lot because I am consistent and competent--two things that'll make leaving hard for them and for me.

  Last night I saw a movie with my friend, who is older than me, but not yet an MS. I told him when he is approached by the elders to step up (which will happen, whether he wants it or not), that he not make the decision to please other people. I made the decision so that people would not bug me to move up...which was a poor way to make a decision. He tells me he's going to make a decision based on what he wants to do. I told him to never forget that, because they are getting desperate, and they know they have to latch on to every potential elder.

  i just received this email from a jw.

  he isn't the first person to send me his views on my website, i've had plenty of correspondence lately, but at least this one isn't full of abusive language, which many of them have been.

  those ones tend to get deleted, though i have sent a few, with the email addresses included, to wts headquarters.
