JW official website promoting Jesus?

i have heard from many people when i would go out in the ministry that "we" witness do not believe in jesus.

when my mother first heard about me becoming interested in the witness that is what she said.

ive seen some make that same statement here.

All Bible translators add indefinite articles ( a, an ) in there rendering of scriptures. The way it is translated agrees with the context of the scripture. Jesus being a Mighty God does not demean him or lower his statis or role in any way.

Agapa please don't buy into their pseudo scholarship. As a matter of fact john placed the words in such a way to emphasize the fact that there is no article there. If you do not believe me please go to your local university with your interlinear new testament find an atheist(non biased) student of classical greek and ask him to give you a literal(word by word) translation.I am from Greece and I took ancient greek and koine greek courses in high school and college. The watchtower has violated all sort of greek grammar and syntax rules in order to get the new testament to agree to their theology and that is one of their more horrific examples.

If the children can consent to lewd behavior by an adult how come he attacked children with special needs? Who could not process what he wanted to do to them as well as a healthy child?You are right, he will get what he 's got coming to him in jail.

vanity indicated i try a pair of "multi-vision" contacts, and they are fantastic!

that's great. But don't throw out your old glasses. If you stay up late or if your eyes are extra dry one day or if you get pink eye or something like that, you will be glad to have your glasses as back up.

Ok Im not sure if anyone has addressed this so I will really quick. Regarding the Christian denominations (Methodist, Baptist etc.) and their child abuse policies. No Baptist, Methodist etc etc etc church memeber would even think of going to the elders to accuse another church member of child abuse. They would go straight to the police. Only the watchtower is so controling that they would have their members report ot them first before doing anything else. So the point the article is making is irrelevant. For example:I used to work at a Christian school. The gym teacher who has just been hired got accused by two 6 yr olds of rape. So this is how it all went down:The kids told their parents. The parents called the police. They arrested him at his house.Then every news reporter in our area showed up at our school with cameras conducting interviews of insuspecting stuff who had no idea yet of what had ha[ppened. Even though the principal who hired the gym teacher had done nothing wrong and had done all the appropriate background checks he still lost his job. Then they reconsidered and readjusted the school policies to further ensure that this never happened again. We do not know who the children were that accused the teacher because their identity was protected. Even though it was a christian school, the law of two witnesses or not taking your brother to the police did not apply.There was no chance for internal investigation or clean up or cover up. People go to the police. Sex abuse is handled by professionals. Was it embarassing for the school and the teachers in charge? Sure, but the protection of the children came first. That is how investigations are handled in the real world.

when looking at the jw pedophilia problem it is important to make the distinction between "theocratic" and secular authorities.

as we all know, the jw consider only their authority to be legitimate and secular authorities as a necessary evil to be "rendered unto".. here is my summary of the pedophilia problem in the organization:.

1. a person accused of pedophilia by a child cannot be found guilty within the org without another witness.. .

wow, that article is trying to scare victims from ever suing the society, because of all the legal fees that the judge will make them pay the society after their lawsuit is dismissed as frivolous. Oh yeah and its not the society's fault that the bible has a two witness rule! Its the bible's fault!!!!

He causes to become - No more

correct me if i'm wrong but the last time the society has used the phrase 'he causes to become' was in 2004, in a review.

it's not even mentioned in the bible teach book... which has an appendix about what gods name is and means, it says it means: i shall become whatsoever i chose.

have they changed their minds about the meaning of gods name?

ok like i said in my little introduction thread on the 7th july i embarked on my amazing day at the jw conference...yea...right!

though it was a scary day i did write lots of notes and i have typed them up really for karl to use but i will put them for everyone else to see also coz it was a interesting day and little nieve me wrote almost all that was said.

i've put all the talksunder sub titles just in case you want to look for a certain thing maybe like there is a talk on angels, older people of the congregation all differnt poop .

i have been lurking on these forums for about 6 months and thought it was time to join in.. i was a child/teen when i first became introduced to jehovah's witnesses through my mum who studied for a while but never fully committed.

i had a study and attended some meetings but it all petered out by the time i hit my late teens and we moved to another town.. for the following 10 years i just lived my life how i pleased.

got married etc.
