While being an active JW, did you throw away Watchtower literature?
by JH ini remember that magazines and books came in faster than i could read, it was accumulating fast.
in my first years, i didn't dare throw away anything.
even later when i was starting to cool down, i still had mountains of books, magazines and brochures.

My youth book "accidentally" fell into the bin and got covered in kitchen waste and was never seen again. Satan must have done it

Why don't JWs pursue hobbies?
by Gill inin the congregation that we used to go to, and my parents and most of my relatives still do, very few had hobbies and interests other than being bound to the wtbts.. many made wine and brewed their own beer.
infact, all of my relatives are wine and beer makers.
there are a few gardeners, but i'm hearing how they are trying to grow their own grapes and fruit so that they can make their own wine!.

Anyway, the stuck up elder tells my husband who is sitting quietly holding the baby, to go and clean the car park and do the weeding as it needs sorting.
My husband smiled, said 'NO' and carried out looking after the baby without a care in the world. Silly ass that I was in those days, (and some say still am), I was totally mortified. Now it makes me laugh and laugh when I think of the Elders red, angry face and his lack of suitable words!
Gill can you ask your husband where he got his balls from as I'd like some too
lol

Since become an ex-dub
by KW13 inhave you found times like christmas have lost that special feeling?.
i watch my family and they totally get into the spirit of it and i always feel as though i am sat 'outside' of some bubble or something, i enjoy it dont get me wrong but just not as much as they do.. also, are you less inclined to believe in supernatural or strange things and look for a rational explanation?.
i find i am slowly looking toward rational explainations for things and in the absense of them i just wait and see.

I was raised in the truth right from when I was an Egg so I never ever celebrated Christmas or birthdays. Today I can't get into the Christmas mood at all, I'm like scrooge or the grouch. I hate it.
Everyone expects you to be happy and jolly but i just don't get it. Its not that I think its wrong its just that I don't have the happy Christmas childhood memories that evoke these feelings of joy at Christmas.
The fact that happiness and joy seem to be compulsory at this time of year makes things even worse !
Try and download "Wonderful Christmas" by Tom Mcrae, that song really sums up what Christmas is like for me.

Its Over
by diamondblue1974 inthere are some of you that know this already but for those that dont and that are interested to know i decided a few weeks ago to end what was a relatively short relationship with and marriage to, elaine.
i dont take these decisions lightly and the last few months have silently been hell whilst i try to get a grip on my thoughts and feelings and the decisions ahead; when two people are simply too fundamentally different and do not provide for each other in the way that they should, in my view not a lot can be done and this is the situation i found and find myself in.. i know a few of you might have met elaine and for those that have i dont wish for you to think any ill of her.
i dont apportion any real blame other than on us both for the breakdown; shes still the same person you met and has some fantastic qualities.

Shame to hear that Gary, I can remember how made up and pleased you were when you first got married after thinking you would never find anyone else after your first wife .
As most have said you're better off finishing and being sad for a little while rather than drag that misery out for what could be years.
Shame you're not local I'd drag you out for a beer or two.
<<hugs >>
Ps is it true you've been performing unnatural acts with various immoral carp? lol
