I want to tell my parents

i'm debating how/or is i should tell my parents about my not believing in the org anymore.

i haven't been an active witness for 8 years, and my family and i celebrate bdays and thanksgiving and a couple other holidays (i can't do halloween or christmas, nothing to do with being an ex-wit, i just have personal issues with those).

i know they will be devastated, might cut me off.

Hi Blue,

IMO, how we project the love is through kindness. It is not a warm fuzzy feeling toward someone because face it we do not feel that way toward everyone. For me, it is treating someone the way that you want to be treated aka the golden rule.

To whom? Anyone and everyone that we come across. Our neighbors are everyone. love, dj

Need Reference

hi folks, been quite a while since i've posted on the board but visit regularly.

i need a reference/link on john 1:1. i've been told that the addition of "a" (word was "a" god) is incorrect in it's context from a greek lanquage point of view.

i need some kind of reference(s) explaining how this is a gramatical error.. later,.

As far as I am concerned it makes perfect sense with the rest of the bible to be Word was God. Jesus is the word, noone debates that right? The bible from teh beginning and clear through it teaches that the heaven and earth were made by the word. "He spoke it into exixtence" it says. Think about that...God said "Let there Be light" He spoke and it was created.. Jesus is the Word, the Creator, The GOD. I have no other gods but the one who created me. The Father and Son and Holy Spirit are one. Does that mean that they can't be separate? NO. Think of it like an egg...the shell, the yolk and the white... it is all one with three distinct componants. That isn't a perfect example but it can be helpful. I don't think it is possible to grasp God completely. The truth of the matter is if we love one another we love God.

Hi Randy,
I'm happy to learn that Bill attended. I hope that it was helpful to him and everyone that was able to attend. I wish that I could have made the trip. Maybe someday Hassan will come to the east coast? It would be nice to have audio of the conference. Hey, I have never seen a factory on the beach before. Is that a CA thing? It is a sad sight. The Name of God

i have a friend who is a jehovah witness.

once we started talking about prayer, and i told him that we referred to god as 'lord', or 'god', or 'father', for reverence or respect, although we did not have prohibited to say jehovah.

he said that i was wrong, that it was necessary to state that the prayer was for jehovah and not any other god.

given that your wts has frequently warned its members to stay away from the internet, and that bad association spoils useful habits, why is it that you persist in posting on this site, which is quite obviously populated by those that are disfelloshipped, disassociated, or, at the very least, spiritually weak?

if you lived near one of the more vocal posters would you willingly be seen by your body of elders having a conversation with them?

or, is it the ease of anonymity that allows you to be such a hypocrite and flaunt the rules of the organisation you pathetically claim to follow?

Is this the true meaning of worship?

the expression "to worship" is defined in a dictionary this way: "to regard with great, even extravagant respect, honor, or devotion.

" *who should be given such worship?

jesus christ said: "you must love jehovah your god with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with your whole mind.

I suppose that is a good definition but she fails to see that Jesus receives the same worship even from the angels. Hebrews 1. There is that oneness thing again...

Hi Blueblades,

It is sad BUT only if he was saddened by it, I suppose. For me, I have concluded that love is all there is that matters. It is hard to say what Will Durant meant exactly without having read his book. What was he trying to find? The meaning of life or how to live it or did he feel the need to comprehend every detail of everything? I think it is always sad when we entangle ourselves with the need to "get" everything. An awful lot of life doesn't make sense to me. If I focus on that I will go mad. love, dj
