this is his 100th pilramage, in his 83rd year.
in 2 weeks he is scheduled to go to bosnia, where i doubt he'll get as warm as a reception as he did in croatia.

LOL! I didn't know if it was Jude from the bible or another Catholic saint named Judy...lol...sorry. I still don't agree with praying to dead people but I do understand what you are saying and how it isn't actually praying to another God but this concept lacks biblical support totally. Thanks for taking the time to explain this to me. There is ONE mediator though, right?

i layed awake last night thinking this through, trying to understand it..... a congregation needs to build a hall.
the money for this loan comes from donations from the worldwide brotherhood.
so in effect, the congregation is borrowing some of its own money back.
I attended a convention for xjw's a couple of years ago and there was an x elder from a Spanish speaking congregation there. He spoke about how their Kingdom Hall was closed because the congregation was very poor and couldn't keep up the mortgage.

Ohhhhh. Thanks for explaining that to me. I can understand it now even though I am not sure that I agree, only because it has no scriptural foundation for me... If Paul prayed to Steven and asked him to speak with God for him, then I would agree. I guess that I feel that we only need Christ as our mediator and high priest. I do see what you are saying though. They are asking the saints to act as mediators? Does the same go for Mary too? On the outside it appears to be polytheist but God knows their intent in their hearts and only He judges. When I read these prayers to St. Jude in the newspaper, I always wonder if the people think that she aactually answered because they are always thanking her. Why don't I ever see them giving the thanks to God for their answered prayers? Thanks a lot. dj

When it was in style for men, it was sorta ok on some guys but to me.....they look like they wanna be chicks...lol Each to his own. It depends on what long is to you though. Your pic looks like your are good lookin' guy....show it!
i have been heartbroken for many years because of the way my family treated me (brothers and parents) - not only because of my df'ing but even before that.

I've had the same thought. My husband and kids are my family and my brothers and sisters are in Christ. My siblings are not even close to being friends in fact, they are my enemies! It made me understand the scripture about hating your mother and children and sister, etc..... I do hate what they do and what they teach and so.. in that way, I do hate them but Jesus taught to love even our enemies. I used to think that meant a warm fuzzy lovey feeling but I learned that it not what He meant at all. He just meant to treat them as we would want to be treated when we do see them. I do not go out of my way anymore trying to get love where there isn't any. I will help them if they need it. There is an emotional tie to our families and I guess it lasts forever but my family anyway...is detrimental to my physical and emotional and spiritual well-being. I used to feel burdened to have to get them out of the jw's. I admit that I still do feel responsible sometimes but I have offered the gospel to them and they just plain reject it as foolishness. I'm glad that you have a good husband and kids, I have a boy and a girl too. love, dj
when i joined the jw's in 1987 a jw friend always bought a special brand of pepperoni when he made pizza, because he knew that brand was approved by elders and had no blood in it.
many witnesses i know seem to eat anything they want, and don't even look at the labels anymore.
is it possible to eat red meat and eat no blood?.
I know that the Jews salt and drain and salt and drain their meats, poultry, etc. before eating it to make sure that they don't eat any blood. I once asked a jw elder and his wife this exact question and the wife answered in a frightened tone and told me about the time she was cooking chicken and the pan filled with blood so she threw it all away and they went out to dinner.....??<<<<< I would have too, but not because I was scared but just grossed out. Jw's and the whole blood thing is such a hypocritical lie that I don't even think that they can understand their own teachings about fractions.

One of my earliest memories of the jw's wa their claim that they are not like the pope who claims infalibility. I admit that I was very young when I was taught this by an elderly couple who were studying with my parents but I put it on the back burner in my mind. I have tossed it around now and then trying to figure out exactly what they meant. As an xjw, I see it as just another lie. I am assuming of course that they meant infalibility in interpreting the scriptures. How could a jw say that? They must have been fully aware that they HAD to believe the wt interpretations or else. They also were jws since birth so, they had to have seen the flip flops too. I have no idea where those people are now or even if they are alive but I wish that I could find them and ask them just what in the heck they were talking about.

You seem like such a great guy and I always read your posts. I'm wondering if you'd mind answering a few questions for me? I've always wondered why Catholics seem to pray to saints instead of God. I heard that they do not think that they are praying to, but "through" them. That doesn't sound right to me though, because they sure don't sound like that is the case. Do you know why? Thanks dj
