Why Can You See Through the Watchtower While Others Cannot?
by The wanderer in<!-- .style1 { font-family: verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; } .style2 { font-family: georgia, "times new roman", times, serif; font-size: 18px; color: #663366; } .style3 { font-family: georgia, "times new roman", times, serif; font-size: 17px; color: #663366; } --> why can you see through the watchtower while others cannot?
compared with the six million jehovahs witnesses worldwide the .
so-called apostates are comparatively much smaller.

My path to enlightenment was very similar to Auldsoul's. Finding out about the UN/NGO issue allowed my mind to go places I had not allow it to go before. I was able to take a close look at doubts I had had for many years. Once I did that, I was ablr to see the "truth" for tha sham that it is.
I agree fully with Mary, that seeing the flaws in the org. is too painful for most. The longer you are "in" the harder it is to face your doubts. It is a sad thing to realize you've been deceived and wasted so much of your life on an illusion.

How long is hate good for you?
by Snoozy inin reading richie's post it got me to wondering..how long is hate healthy?.
i always heard you should hate what someone does to you rather than hate the person.in all my watching and learning years i have reconciled myself to the fact that if you continue to have hate in your heart for someone you were only hurting yourself.
usually i have found when someone carries a hate for someone for many years..that person is still controlling you..you won't ever truly be happy.. also in my many years on this planet.... so i thought " i wonder how others feel"?.

Hate will eat you up. It's a destructive emotion. Letting go of the hate is calming, restores your balance. That does not mean that you should continue to have dealings with people who hurt you. You learn you lessons and move on, don't wast your life on hate.

Your letter is good. You state your feelings w/o belittleing your mom. She will respect you for that even if she never admits it.

In Memorandum
by RichieRich init was the 14th of april last year that i had to sit my mother down and tell her i was an apostate.. i was closer to her than anyone else.
my father and mother are still married, but he let her raise me as a witness, and that meant it was me and mom.. me and mom in field service for 100 hours in july because she had to make her time as a regular pioneer.. me and mom fighting over what to bring for lunch to the district convention.. me and mom up late at night, when she would berate me, and then unload all her problems on to me.. me and mom and our 4 hour family studies, where we discuss 2 paragraphs of a random book, and then she would browbeat me until early in the morning.. somehow, through all that, i pretended to be a witness for years, just to appease her.
looking back, i don't know if i loved her, or if i was just afraid of her.

WoW! I really feel for you. Your mother was abusive and twisted. Have you had any therapy to deal with your feelings? Putting things in writting has a cleansing and healing effect, but you may need more. Don't hesitate to get help if you need it((((())))))

OK, I did not read your entire post before I responded. If he gives you a creepy feeling and has hinted there may be more "dark secrets", be careful, listen to your gut.

Sex with a cousin is not incest, either by law or the Bible's standards. It is illegal in most states to marry a cousin because of the possibility (remote) of birth defects. Because of this it does carry a social stigma.
Now, if your boyfriend was turned on by the fact that she was his cousin, that might be a red flag.
Also, you mentioned his present relashionship with her. You should handle this like you would any other relashionship with an ex. You need to find out if it's really over or if there is still an attraction that could come between the two of you.

Green light on higher education since 1995
by Fatfreek in---if you believe what oroborus21 (aka -eduardo leaton jr., esq.
) claimed on an earlier thread in a different section.
that statement actually was off topic and that thread is so long i didn't have the patience to wade through and challenge him on it.

In the nineties there was a softening of the issue of higher education. Publications actually made it a personal and family matter not to be critisized by others. However, the pendulum has since swung the other way and we are pretty much where we were in the sixties and seventies: higher education is evil and anyone persuing it is not spiritual.
