yes i did this too!even though i was a 'slacker' i used to get a kick out of beating the 'proper' jws!Sometimes though if it was a hard to find book, i'd have to look it up at the front to see what where to find it, that was embarrassing. Wow blondie you must have a good memory remembering all the books like that! When i was 15 i won merit points in RE at school for being the quickest in the class to be able to say theNT books in order- wasn't a jw then though. My sister taught me a song to help me remember them all - got it stuck in my head now!

The fastest scripture looker upper
by SacrificialLoon ina comment by rubadub in the thread about learning new things at the meetings made me remember something, and gave me a chuckle.. i would always see how fast i could look up the scriptures during the talks, and race to beat most everyone else.
of course everyone else didn't realize i was racing them, but i'd always feel a smug (and perhaps a bit self-righteous) satisfaction at having the scripture looked up and ready to follow along while from the sights and sounds around me most everyone else was still looking it up.
being able to look up jehovah's word with such speed would surely earn me spiritual brownie points.

How big is your carbon footprint?
by Fe2O3Girl ini worked out my carbon footprint using this article:.
http://environment.guardian.co.uk/ethicalliving/story/0,,1997277,00.html.
this does require a calculator and a pen and paper to complete - it isn't a tick box quiz, but i think the results are worth looking into.. according to my calculations, i am just under the average for britain.

did you see the programme on telly last night on bbc1, it was a family who had to reduce theirs over the course of a year.Had to get rid of the car, etc it was v interesting.I haven't worked mine out cos it was too much maths and i can't find my calculator!however my tumble drier hasn't worked for months, my thermostat is turned down to what they recommend, we don't fly anymore(can't afford it).Hubby has free train travel to work most days so his car isn't used much and i don't drive mine further than Chard (20 mins from my town) so don't use it a lot.

If i treated my bible(if i still had one lol) like my mobile phone it would be very soggy cos my first phone fell in the bath, my second in a cup of juice and my last in a puddle, followed by the bath again 2 wks later!Oh yes and my husband dropped hisinto a lake!Talk about watering down the word of God! PS I'm not allowed a new phone now - can't think why!

I've always thought Canada looks lovely, i never met him cos he moved back there when he left my nan, but my grandad was french-canadia n, he was posted over here during the war, couldn't speak any english. by aSphereisnotaCircle inwe spend about $500 per month.

We've got an allotment plot plus in the summer igrow veg in pots in the garden. I'm veggie and the boys don't like much meat so a few nights a week we miss out the meat or fish which makes it cheaper - lentils are much cheaper than meat! We usually shop at Asda(walmart), but sometimes as a treat we go to sainsburys or even marks and spencers but not often. I cook from scratch and make batches of things to freeze, so i've always something handy to use, then we're not tempted to spend on takeaways or extras. I think our weekly shop bill ranges from £35 - £60 depending what we need.I get nappies every week, there are 4 of us plus a dog and rabbit.

Bobbleheads
by StillGroggy inanyone ever been in a meeting and notice the constant head-nodding in zombified agreement that witnesses do.
it drives me crazy!
especially since it seems to increase and be accompanied by little "hmmms" whenever someone says something that is complete bullshit.

I never did it personally but it used to irritate me cos i used to sit at the back and had a prime view of them all.It used to annoy me when a couple would look at each other after some comment had been made and would both nod at each other. We had a batty (but nice)old lady who used to nod like those nodding dogs you put in the car and she'd say stuff out loud in agreement - and those around her would start agreeing with her etc agh! LMAO at 'bobbleheads'!never heard that word before!
