Shunning Policy
by sweet pea ina little bird told me that some members of the governing body are unhappy with the shunning policy and want it changed (presumably due to the bad press from sites like these).
apparently they were overruled.
is this yet another policy that will start to be diluted and eventually dropped altogether or what and can anyone back up the rumour?
-
dobbie
If they did eventually drop it, which i doubt as its such a great form of control for them, they'd probably only apply it to those that left after announcing it, not those of us who have already left it. I can't see them dropping this policy though, cos jws would be leaving in droves if they didn't have the fear of shunning keeping them in!

I've got a jack russell terrier and a dutch rabbit, hes so cute. We did have another rabbit guinea pigs and a hamster but they have all recently died off!The reabbit is 8yrs now so i don't think he will go on much longer, i love rabbits but hubby has banned me from buying anymore cos hes the one who has to clean it out, (which is totally his fault cos he nsists on keeping the hutch in the shed and its full of spiders so i won't go in there)
So i won't be popping in Richierichs house to see his spider, it was bad enogh working at a pet shop once and they squashed a dead one down my back!I'm not into snakes either, when iwas at the pet shop i ended up with a bedroom full of mice to stop the cutest ones being fed to the snakes! I like lizards though they're really cute!

Were You Looked Down In The Hall Because Of Age, Gender, Race, $$$, Etc????
by minimus inwere you discriminated against for any reason in the "christian congregation"?
-
dobbie
I was always looked down on i think for being considered 'weak' and being quiet.Hubby was looked down on for being a shift worker, even by his mother. When we had the bs at our house a few times as we have a large sitting room and when it wasn't convenient to have it at the usual place, suddenly we would be their best friends again (the users) cos they wanted out room, hardly any of the group would show and those that did never even bothered to say hello or anything!I spent ages hoovering and setting out chairs etc cos my husband was usually at work, no one offered to help and i had two youngsters as well to take care of. The last time we were asked i said no and they never asked again hooray! But to be honest in my experience of my congregation, with all the gossiping and back biting they all seem to look down on each other in one way or another, you just can't win with people like that.

Es you must be really pleased with the photos they are gorgeous! What lovely smiles you've all got, James always does beaming smiles for the photographer but as soon as Rowan sees a camera pointed at him he stops smiling and looks totally grumpy!(bit like me actually!) They're really great, i'd love a little girl to dress in pink!

Any one enjoys gardening?
by greendawn inin the new ground floor flat that i purchased there is a garden area outside which is l shaped each leg being about 15 by 2 metres or about 50 by 7 feet (the rest of the outside is paved) and as the weather got better i planted a lot of the usual vegetables, aubergines, yellow peppers, tomatoes, courgettes, strawberries, cucumbers, runner beans a total of about 50 plants, and many flowers.
if all goes well i will not be buying much vegetables this summer.
i mixed in natural manure two months ago to give it time to get digested and hope i will not need to use any chemical pesticides.

BA that must be why they failed last year then!Although lots of others grew them last year, though the badgers got most of them i believe!Maybe i'll try the mini corn ones instead!I think my whole plot is about the size you said so that would mean i couldn't grow anything else and i've got a taste for home grown spuds now! SIL succumbs to the cancer :(
by LovesDubs ini wanted to thank all of you who sent prayers and warm thoughts and healing vibes in the direction of my sister in law in california who found out in november that she had pancreatic cancer at age 44. she managed to get five more months before she could fight no more.
my father called yesterday to tell me that despite everyone's best efforts, that she has only a couple days at most to live and that her organs are shutting down.
they are trying to keep her as comfortable as possible and she is surrounded by her family and has a strong faith as a mormon that this isnt the end for her.

I've got a large allotment patch which we took on last year, it only costs £16 a year and is nearly as big as my garden! Last year we grew carrots beetroot runners spuds all the usual berry fruit salad leaves rads cucumbers tomatoes courgettes. This year i'm growing to try sweetcorn bell peppers and spaghetti marrow as well, myporch is already full of pots of seedlings. I do grow things at home too but our garden is small and i need room for 2 boys a dog and a bunny so i just grow a few things in pots. Its really calming when you can just pop to the allotment site for a couple of hours, its so peaceful. I just hope we don't have the snail trouble we had lst year there were hundreds of them in my garden, i ued to keep them all in a container with lettuce in until we walked the dog and i'd tip them into the hedges, i hate killing them!
