Sometimes its obvious that they are jws from the terms that they use, i look at forums a lot and also there are quite a few ex jws who defend them (obviously the ones who aren't being shunned by family lol). But something i've seen are those that say they are jws but they get really aggressive to the non jw or ex jws, and start hurling insults about at them and making personal comments!Meanwhile the ex jws stay calm, so it actually backfires on the jws cos they just make themselve look bad by acting like that.

Would you ski if you were pregnant.
by Es inhey all, we are heading off to the snow for the weekend, i havnt been in three years and are eagerly looking forward to it all, esp my kids having heaps of fun.. anyway i have pretty much decided not to ski as i have just found out im pregnant, im a pretty confident skiier i guess its the other people you have to worry about.
when i tried to look at information whether or not it was a good idea it seemed 50\50.. just wondering what would you do or if you have skiied whilst pregnant?.

Hi Es, i've never skied way too scared of heights! I did try to look it up on internet but couldn't find much. But personally i wouldn't just in case i fell or someone knocked into me but then as you know i have problems anyway when pregnant. Someone said on a forum they asked their drs and they said it was a risk but it was up to them (not much help sorry!)
I'm sure you'll still have a great time anyway though hun, just seeing the excitement on the little ones faces, and as soon as your next little one comes along you can go for it!

I just walked 4.6km and I feel great.
by Orgull ini am extremely overweight (280lbs.
several friends suggested walking.
we have a 'rail trail' near the house here that goes all the way to two towns over, about 30km long.

Well done for getting out there and doing it, i lost all my baby weight after his birth just by an hrs walk 5 times a week, i had a pedometer too and i started the first week with half hourly walks and built it up. Theres nothing like getting out walking, it is brilliant for lifting your spirits too.

A warning would be fair
by greendawn ingiven the often devastating consequences of disassociation and disfellowshipping isn't it fair that those studying with the jws should be explicitly warned about these precedures in advance so that they know where they walking into?
so that they would be able to better judge whether they want to become jws and potentially risk losing jw family and friends at some future time?
how many of you would get baptised into the cult if you really knew about the policies of dfing and shunning?

thats cos there is no way to leave it and not be bothered, plus i think some of them might actually find it embarrassing to admit that they will treat you that way if you leave (ok i said only SOME of them would be embarrassed). But when your'e starting to go along and they are all so pally getting to the stage where you just can't do it anymore doesn't seem believable at first.

The kingdom hall here is shared but the ones who have the morning meetings go into field service from the hall straight after. I know they always used to try to discourage ones not going out hanging around yapping so i presumed it was so that they allow this time for the yapping and then they can get on with the field service meeting.

UK - 'No Cold Calling Zones' becoming prevalent + popular
by besty ini've noticed a few press articles recently about the spread of these zones where door knockers are being clamped down on, mainly to prevent old ladies having their life savings taken off them by unscrupulous tradesmen.. the overall reaction has been very positive with local authorities reporting significant decreases in doorstep crimes.. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/article2289189.ece.

Yes i posted about this yesterday. My mum heard it in the radio news yesterday and religious callers were mentioned. Apparently the trial areas were successful and the government would like to see this in place all over. It would probably please the jws though, it would be seen as a sign of turning against religion in the last days lol!

Yes it would but it would be shooting themselves in the foot to do it as they'd have even less new recruits joining up! When i was finally told that you can be d'fd i was told it was only for smoking or fornication, even my then best friend last yr said you don't get df'd or d'ad for not believing or having blood!What?! I've seen this on forums as well where apologists have said jws only kick people out for committing fornication. (of course i don't mind that cos then it gives me a chance to put them all straight on the subject lol!)
Its like everything in the organisation, anything negative or that would make them look in a bad light gets glossed or covered over. It isn't fair but then when are they?
