Why did the org "forgive" KH mortgages?
by Magnum ini know this has been discussed, but i think it's good that topics like this get brought back up from time to time for the sake of newbies and lurkers, plus, i have a question (related at end of post).. the org brags about "forgiving" kh mortgages as if it's so loving and giving.
i put the word in quotation marks because most of us realize it wasn't forgiving anything.
the new arrangement should actually bring it far more money.. for example, suppose there are twenty congregations total.

With this new arrangement, I have seen 2 cases happening:
Case 1:
Credit card company: "Hello John Doe, we will cancel your $50.00 payments that you pay every month!"
John Doe: "Great! Thanks! Such a wonderful company. What should I do to get this going?"
Credit card company: "Nothing. We cancelled your $50.00 payment. The only thing you have to do is send us $15.00 instead for the rest of your life. Ain't it a deal?"
John Doe: "Oh..."
Case 2:
John Doe: "Great! I just finished paying my credit card! I have a zero balance!"
Credit card company: "Ah, nope! Actually, you gotta pay us $15.00 for the rest of your life."
John Doe: ":-("
In both cases, our friend John Doe loses. In both cases, the congregation loses.

A Whole New Watchtower Society (Governing Body 3.0 / Simplified Society)
by FusionTheism ina whole new watchtower society (governing body 3.0 / simplified society).
i'm not here to attack the governing body, watchtower society, or the jehovah's witnesses (jw) organization.
the bible says there is just "one hope" for christians (ephesians 4:4).

- Type and Antitype Interpretations should be done away with unless taught directly in the Bible.
Sure! Oh! if only other religions will do away with their type and anti types like the WT had done for decades!..oh, wait...

Blood Transfusions -- Simplified Suggestion
by FusionTheism inif you look at the context of acts 15, the commands given, are given to gentiles because jews with weak consciences would be stumbled if they saw gentiles doing these things.. these were not eternal, absolute moral commands from the almighty.
they were temporary, cultural, ethnic instructions to help the jews and gentiles get along together when they were brought into the same congregation.. for example, one of the commands given is that gentiles must not eat any meat sacrificed to idols.
yet, the apostle paul wrote many times telling christians that it is "up to your conscience" whether to eat such meat or not.

What on earth have the JW org got to offer?
by Half banana inwhat on earth have jw org got to offer?.
one hundred and thirty six years this july of the worlds most published and least read magazine: the inglorious watchtower.
nothing in it which is original has been of any use to mankind.

The things the Watchtower offers, as far as religious doctrines, which people find appealing (and which are actually Biblically accurate), are:
* No traditional Trinity
* No eternal torment in Hellfire
* No Calvinistic Predestination that makes God be portrayed as more evil than Satan.
* No complex Rapture theories (except, well, now they've made a complex Rapture theory for the Anointed)
And actually, all of them highly debatable.

What is true love?
by hoser ini just watched the video what is true love.
first of all it is painfully long.
secondly there is an uncanny resemblance with megan(the one who married out of the truth) to the girl in the jeremiah book who married out of the truth.

Simplified Suggestion-- The Faithful and Discreet Slave
by FusionTheism inmy simplified suggestion for the faithful and discreet slave (matthew 24:45-51, luke 12:40-48):.
it's really just a simple parable showing that jesus will reward the leaders of each congregation / church who remain faithful and discreet in caring for their flocks, and that he will punish the wicked leaders.. nothing more, nothing less.. this parable is exactly like the messages jesus delivered to the 7 congregations in revelation 2:1 through 3:22.. there is nothing in the bible that links the faithful and discreet slave to anything else besides the leaders of congregations.. plus, since this is definitely a parable/illustration, the governing body now says we should not be looking for any special complicated antitypical fulfillments or giving explanations for every detail of the parable..
-

Good.
My take on it is that each of us can be "the faithful and discreet slave". I think this parable is at a personal level. Like the virgins. We don't think that just because they are females it applies to women. It is just a parable. Are you listening GB????
Disclaimer: My thoughts, in case I would think all of this is for real.
