Aww...
The worst part of that for me was "two girls about 15-16" .
Two less girls for me to chase after once I get out of this religion...
;) .

Special Assembly 2-Day 2,000 delegates and TWO baptisms!
by MinisterAmos injust got back from the special one day assembly and had to share this important info.
only two baptisms today; two girls about 15-16 out of 2,000 attendees.. i stumbled more than two with my anti-witnessing.
i posted un expose material in the bathrooms along with pre and post nov 1995 1914 generation belief.. incidentally, attendance was down almost 25% over last year as well.

Would Everlasting Life under Jehovah's rulership appeal to you?
by frankiespeakin ini don't find it the least bit appealing to even think of living forever under the jehovah's rule because he is such an egocentric god.
always worrying if you make him mad.

I never really got that either.
My thinking always was around baseball. It's not a violent game, it's resonable to assume we'd play it.
But how can you hit the PERFECT pitch? After all, we'd be perfect in every way, hand eye coordination, muscle strength, and pitching strategy.
But how can you miss with the PERFECT swing?
I'd never want to be perfect. All the times I've stubbed my toe, it made my life interesting.
Perfect guy 1: "What did you do today?"
Perfect guy 2: "I planted corn in perfect rows, like I've done every year for the past few billion years."
Perfect guy 1: "Yeah, that sounds boring..."
Perfect guy 2: "You're telling me. We can't even have sex anymore, or else we'd overpopulate the earth."
Not to mention that the ammount of dead people would be far more than this planet can handle. I belive the maximum the earth can take was just about 6.5 billion.
People die every day of starvation. "Perfect Organization" or not, there would never be enough food to feed the billions that have died and were brought back. -

Are you 'following a worldly course'? Loaded WT expressions.
by jambon1 inanother example of the wts's loaded language that i actually find quite offensive.. the expression 'following a worldly course' is banded about, often in a similar context to that below, taken from the watchtower of may 1973 (convention review):.
the next oldest, a son, told how he also at one time wanted to go to college and follow a worldly course.
but his father sat down and reviewed the scriptures with him.. so, what is 'following a worldly course'?

"They" meaning JWs :P .
And I just looked up thier "Why we aren't propagandists" and it was crap. I noticed it was considerably shorter.
They also don't say that they don't do the little things assosciated with propaganda, such as generalization. They take the main use of propaganda, as in conquering a government, and denying that. And then following up with some stupid remarks like "They are good, etc, etc." to make themselves look better.
Propaganda can be used for anything, from toppling governments to convincing a kid that he should share his lunch with you.
And then giving a single shred of the definition from the encyclopedia. The one I read said "Writing or saying something that convinces others of the trueness of thier own opinion or belief." or somesuch similar thing. -

That is so wierd.
Yesterday, I picked up a dictionary, on a whim, and looked up propaganda. I was wondering if the Watchtower actually was propaganda, by dictionary deffinition.
It fit it perfectly.
And now, this thread starts today, you give that link, and it astounds me.
"Making Generalizations
Another very successful tactic of propaganda is generalization. Generalizations tend to obscure important facts about the real issues in question, and they are frequently used to demean entire groups of people."
False religion, worldly people, apostates, the list goes on and on. They are EXTREMELY CLEARLY propagandists.
Is there any way I can find something similar to this written in a watchtower or awake, etc?
I can't just go pulling things off the internet, because mom changed the password, and I "don't know it". So if I use this, she'll know what I did, Watchtower site or not. -

Am I allowed to take psychology?
That's not 'demonized' is it?
I just happen to think I'm naturally good at it (maybe caused my 'detection' of the JW's lies early on?) .
Thankfully my Mom isn't so shortsighted to think that extra school is worthless. She wants me to get into computers (Wanted me into veterinarian, but I'm not too keen on that anymore). But we won't need computers in the new system, will we ;) ? -

How old did you expect to be when the New System would come?
by JH ini became a jw at age 28 and no way did i expect to ever get older than 40 years old in this system.. maybe at the extreme, i could have imagined being 45 years old, not more..

Grandma said I'd be the little kid leading the lion, lambs, and whatever other animals they were.
It totally worked out.
At least it didn't come in 1975. Else I wouldn't exist.
It's a good thing it didn't come in 2002, or else I wouldn't have any nephews.
It's also good that it won't come anytime soon, so I can have a family of my own.
And since it won't ever happen, my family will spread so insanely far across the globe, that I'll literally have millions of people with my genetic code in them....happy times. -

Seeing as how I belive in neither, it's doubtful I'd be in a religion either way.
But what a few others are saying, going to church even though not believing, sounds kinda nice. I've never known any other way of meeting freinds, I guess it's my only way to meet anybody. -

Well, the only thing I do all day is hope that tommorow we don't go on a recruiting run.
I might snap, and tell people at the door the real truth about the truth. But I'll sabatage anyway I can, such as 'almost' ringing the doorbell, and saying I did, and that no1 was home. Or I could run away into the forest, and live with the wolves.
And then get eaten. -
