1994 Honda Gold Wing - just turned 89,000 miles. I bought it with 14,000 on it in 2000 - and -
1998 Harley Road King - I've done about 11,000 mile on it in the past two seasons.
first of all, i'd like to say that the purpose of this thread is in know way an avenue for me to boast, but merely to share an interest with you all.. there is one thing at least that i'd like to get back into now that i no longer have so much of my time taken up by jw activities, and that's music.
i won't name the instrument on this thread because that'll be telling too much info about me(as if i already hadn't) and i don't want to just blatently give my identity away since many local jws know about this, but i'm starting to realize how much i've missed playing the intrument.
i haven't touched one in 5 years, yet i still feel that i can pick one up and play it.

From the December 1993 "Our Kingdom Ministry", page 7
"We want to give deserving ones the opportunity to learn of Jehovah’s undeserved kindness and the Kingdom hope."
i talked to grace this morning and she sounded like things have been rough for her lately, so join me in expressing your love and appreciation for our jwd granny!
Hey Grace - hugs from us here in Maine. Hope to see you in PA in October

You can see the programs of the conventions from 1969-2003 at http://www.geocities.com/jrista/
we all know that skilled songwriters the brothers are not, so what are your most hated kingdom songs?
the ones that made you cringe when you saw them listed on the km or watchtower?
mine?.
"Firm and determined, in this time of the end...."This is the song credited to a German JW in a concentration camp, entitled in English, "Forward You Witnesses". In fact, it is referenced in the Holocaust museum in Washington DC.

This is also my most hated song. Besides being just a bad song, it seems that the author, Erich Frost, was not the steadfast witnesses that both he and the WT make him out to be. According to Gestapo documents, after he was betrayed by August Fehst, Frost ratted out seven other district servants. See http://www.bible.ca/jw-collaboration.htm
are they all their cracked up to be?
we are completly remodeling our house, and when i build my shop, we are thinking of putting one of these in.
i just want to see what people think of them.
I just replaced my old water heater with a Rinnai Continuum as part of a kitchen remodel in my home that was build in the 1940's. We love it. It does take a bit longer for the hot water to get to the faucet than it did with the tank type heater, but you never run out. My old heater was electric, the Rinnai is gas. Much, much cheaper.
The other bonus for us is that the water heater is in a closet. The tankless is much smaller which freed up some much needed closet space.
for those of you don't know our story sweet pea and i stopped attending all meetings quite abruptly about 4 months ago.
since then we have had a few ill-advised conversations with jw friends and family stating our reasons - sometimes in emails.
also sp emailed a new friend on another forum her experiene with going to a new church.
feelinsketchy:
It seems to me in order to be DF/DA for apostasy you would have to be promoting a false religious teaching.
One would think so, but this is not the case.
What follows is from a 9/1/1980 letter from the WTB&TS of NY to all circuit and district overseers:
Keep in mind that to be disfellowshiped, an apostate does not have to be a promoter of apostate views. As mentioned in paragraph two, page 17 of the August 1, 1980, Watchtower, "The word 'apostasy' comes from a Greek term that means 'a standing away from,' 'a falling away, defection,' 'rebellion, abandonment. Therefore, if a baptized Christian abandons the teachings of Jehovah, as presented by the faithful and discreet slave, and persists in believing other doctrine despite Scriptural reproof, then he is apostatizing. Extended, kindly efforts should be put forth to readjust his thinking. However, if, after such extended efforts have been put forth to readjust his thinking. he continues to believe the apostate ideas and rejects what he has been provided through the 'slave class, then appropriate judicial action should be taken.
So rather than having to be promoting a false religious teaching to be DF'd, all you really have to do is persist in believing it despite "Scriptural reproof" (a.k.a. Watchtower based reproof)
.
and, say, you don't think i could get disfellowshipped just for making a couple of posts on this site.
slim.
A CO told me in the early to mid 1990's that between 1 and 1.5% of JWs are DF'd each year and that about half that number are reinstated.

Besty, you may want to check out my legal letter on my website at www.docbob.org . I and several others send it or variations of it to bodies of elders and the judicial action abruptly ceases. You can find it in the content index of the left side of the main page under "Letter 2". I sent it in December 1999 after I was invited to appear before a committee to face charges of apostasy as a result of "Letter 1".
