  Baby's first halloween pics

  last year i still wasn't sure about halloween, but this year we're going to dress the munchkin up.

  it's been alot of fun looking for something and decorating the house.

  my family was not witnesses so growing up we celebrated everything...i remember it always as good times.

  Scared of Birds?

  anyone scared of birds now or while they were in the religion.

  i remember as a kid being scared of crows and other scary looking birds, and picturing them eating my skull after armageddon.

  Who cleans the KH?

  i just had a flash back to when we used to have to clean the kh.

  each group had to take it in turn to do the cleaning.. in our group we had a bunch of lazy b*****ds, so it was left to us kids and our dad to clean the kh, bogs, etc.

  even my mum used to find some excuse to duck out.. so if meetings, door knocking, studying, praying wasn't enough we also had to spend a couple of hours cleaning every month or so.

  What's the point of quick build KH,s

  the only reason i can see for them to ever been done is for the publicity?

  quick builds remind me of extreme makeovers home edition.. do what ever it takes to get your ratings up..

  I agree with the publicity thing. I remember them going on and on when we were having one about dressing appropriately yadda yadda yadda, because there would be droves of people watching and driving by etc. They are just so proud of these "quick builds". But like Outlaw said, we had to do months of work before the actual quick build.

  On a side note...Ever experience all the "brotherly love" that goes along with a quick build? The judgemental looks and comments when you haven't devoted every waking second of your spare time to the labor of the new kingdum hall? People saying things like...glad you finally made it out here, etc. Our quick build really opened our eyes about the so-called love within the congregation.

  well i am convinced i know how the stars are treated.

  being considered an apostate by just about everyone in the circuit, and now, tonight i find that the neighboring circuit is talking of our apostacy as well.

  (mind you we are not d'fd, nor have we d'ad ourselves.

  I once had a sister almost crawl into the frozen food case in a grocery store trying to hide her face from me. I just stood there for a minute and waited for her to surface- I said "Hi" and she promptly quit shopping and left the grocery store. I heard later that some of the brothers were shopping in a neighboring city to avoid running into me.

  That IS impressive!!!!

  Did your Kingdom hall ever cancel meetings?

  we were building a new kh- not quick build- and we had to vacate the old building and the new kh was not finished.

  the elders decided to cancel all the meeting with the exception of the tuesday night bookstudy in homes.

  we had no other meetings for about 4-5 weeks.

  Incidently when our speaker wouldn't show up, we had the Watchtower study first and one of our elders would give a talk during the second half. They never cancelled for a no-show on the speaker.
