obviously that's not always the case.
i'm curious about whose pic is really them.

Mary gives excellent advice, and it works. Just be busy, sick, tired, on your way out, depressed, whatever you can think of. It's wondeful that so many have found a surge of relief by finally disassociating or getting DF'd, but for many of us, it's just not the best scenario. Do what is best for you, but just know that meeting with the smelders is easily avoided. You just have to get creative!Dune, according to your profile, you live in the United States. Last time I heard, Americans lived in a free country and you are under no legal obligation to meet with these turkeys if you don't want to, nor do you have to answer ANY of their questions. If it were me, I'd phone one of the elders (when you know he's at a meeting), tell him that something's come up and you can't meet with them after all and say good bye. When they call you to re-schedule another meeting, just let it go through to the voicemail and ignore it. If they come around to the door, either don't answer it, fake sick, or pretend you're on your way out the door. They'll tire of this after a while.

My first concert was Pink Floyd and I couldn't beleive all the people smoking pot right out in the open. I was sure the police would be swooping in at any moment! LOL! But my favorite: AEROSMITH

How do you make friends once leaving the Borg?
by unhappy inso i'm starting the fading out now, and i'm avoiding all kh 'friends,' but am finding it a bit lonely, as was raised in org, and was always taught to shun worldly people even at school.
does anyone have any advice or experiences about how to overcome this?
how they met and made new friends in the beginning?

In my opinion, it takes a bit of time to reprogram yourself. When you are so used to seperating yourself from EVERYONE outside of the hall you lose or never develop the ability to get to know people in a normal way. I had to really be proactive. Make myself make small talk in line at the store, etc. Once I felt a little more comfortable with people in general I joined a book club and got to know my neighbors a little better. Meeting people takes practice. Take it one step at a time and before you know it you'll have a whole circle of friends.

I just got one of *those* calls from my son's school
by daystar in*sigh* the joys of parenthood.. i just got a call from my son's school.
he gets picked up by his after school care in a van.
all the kids who get picked up are lined up outside to get ready for their rides.. my son decides it's a good idea to pick up a stick and throw it, hitting a car and putting a small dent in it.

Oh...I so know how you feel! How old is your son? If he is very young (5 or 6) I wouldn't do more than 2-3 days no TV or computer + a stern talking to tonight to make sure that he understands. If he is older, I would add a few days.

Elder Scrolls Oblivion - Role Playing Games - Advice
by Crumpet indoes anyone else play role playing games on the pc?
reason i ask is i want to play on my laptop (usually use playstation and xbox but they will be out of bounds over christmas) but am not sure what sort of controller i need as it has been that long since i used the pc for gaming?

Crumpet,
Yeah..another RPG geekette like me. I thought I would tell you that I bought a logitech PC controller that is similiar to the X Box controller and could not get it to work. You can program everything in it except turning, which is a useful thing to be able to do. I have played all of the Elder Scrolls and Neverwinters and the Neverwinters are not nearly as good IMO. They are okay for a filler game when there is nothing new on the market. I, myself am totally immersed in the new Final Fantasy right now on Playstation 2. Oh the things I could get done were I not a gamer. LOL!
