OK, I too have a lot but the ones I BELT out the loudest are:
1. Goodnight Saigon by Billy Joel (if I don't cry while I'm singing it that is)
2. Broken Wing by Martina McBride
i was driving home today and elo's "mr. blue sky" came on.
i sang my ass off (closed windows of course).
whats your guilty pleasure song?

no chess?
i once had a demonstration on a circuit assembly about not going to parties with worldly people (yeck when i think of it, i basically told all: he dont have fun or jehovah is going to kill you)'.
anyway the demonstration ended that it was better to do nice recreation things.
let's see......competitive, king with cross on it, bishop, knight (who fight duels.....in war), queen (royalty), pawn (servitude...but not to the elders)........Hmmm, I just don't see what's wrong with it in a JW's brainwashed mind???
I like chess. I'm going to RUN RIGHT OUT AND BUY THE GAME. LMAO!

most here will know of the serious illness i've been fighting for the past two years.
well, this morning i decided to go for a stroll to try and help build up my fitness.
at the bottom of my street lives an elder from my old congregation and i have to pass his house.
Now see, you were WAY more tactful than I would have been. You set a great example, one I wouldn't follow however, because I'm much more outspoken (some call it hasty). But, I'm sure being so dignified yet to the point will indeed let him know just what affect he has on you and your family. That being NONE.
Good job. I hope you are feeling better.

.
i'm very new to this and please understand, but at one time or another most everyone here was a loyal and faithful witness.. if you disapproove of it or don't fit in as i don't.

Hambeak, I'd like to read about it. Got any websites or links I can go to?

the mind is full of all kinds of things that can trigger memories.
it could be the taste of a certain spice that reminds you of a now passed relative who liked to cook.
it could be the smell of a perfume or cologne, that reminds you of a lover you once could not live without.
AND.............the doorbell. OMG, everytime that thing rings, I think it's an elder or a service group! GOD, will it EVER go away????????
LOL......yep, the doorbell.

cherries........when we still had 4-day conventions, we went to a place in Washington (the old Capital Center, now called US Air Arena) and they sold fruit by the bags. We always had tons of them in our cooler and cherries were the ones I remember the most because I'd chew them up and then see how far I could spit the seeds from the nosebleed section during the drama (which was also when the lights used to be turned out). I never liked cherries, and I STILL don't. Everytime I see a bag, I want to buy them just so I can go by the KH & spit them on their parking lot..................
cherries.......that's my 'memory trigger'-

some years ago my brother was disfellowshipped.
not for apostasy, but for more mundane reasons.
he has not had the internet, he has not studied the bible much since being disfellowshipped, he has been feeling guilty and considering returning for the last six months.. i had no way of contacting him, having lost touch in the midst of his many moves.
COLOSSIANS 3:14 - "...Clothe yourselves with love, for it is a PERFECT bond of union!!"

i can't find a thread on this subject yet - if there is one , please delete this one.. the september kingdom ministry has a 4 page insert detailing the 70 alterations in the revelation climax book which is due to be studied at the book study shortly.
i'll provide scans if anyone is interested.. i will leave it up to more experienced analysts to examine the reasons for specific changes , but just a few brief observations for now:.
p32 box - "they were completely exonerated" changed to "charges against them were dropped" - interesting change of terminology for the 1918 watchtower eight.
Can anyone tell me how I can get a copy of this? I can't 'highlight" it off of the thread and if I right click and save as......it comes up so small I can't see it. I'd like a good copy of it that we can read. is there a specific website? Help
