Wouldn't It Be Great if You Could Download The New Organization Book?
by ezekiel3 injust a hypothetical question.
ever wonder why the od book is provided to jw "publishers" only and not included on the wt library cd?.
could you imagine what the general public would do with the ability to quote df/da procedure, field service reporting rules, baptism questions, contribution policy, organization hierarcy, and fds authority statements directly from the jw manual?.

More Internet users = Fewer WTS members?

Yes, frankiespeakin, I'm sure they are.
If they were proactive (or even reactive in a positive way) they would've done something besides continue to demonize the Internet/apostate web pages.
They're too haughty to make changes, and in the end they hurt their own precious organization more than any apostate.

The WTS is scared and doesn't have a clue how to prevent current members from getting the real truth online. And more prospective members will continue to go online to research the group before getting involved. Good news for us, bad news for the WTS!
The top 15 countries in internet usage below correlates with countries experiencing decreases/zero growth.

WT Library 2004 CD Available as ISO file
by doinmypart in.
i created an iso file of the wt library 2004 cd.. i'd like to distribute copies to people that want it, but it is too large for me to send via e-mail.. please reply here if you can help me with distribution.
also reply here if you'd like a copy of the iso file.

Minimus - Thanks for your concern.
I'm not encouraging anyone to take part in anything illegal, if this post can potentially cause problems for Simon and this board the mods can delete it.
I made a copy of the CD for backup in case I lose or damage the original. If other owners of the CD need a backup copy, but don't have the means to make a copy, would providing them a copy violate copyright laws?

Nice bike!
I had a 2001 Suzuki GSX-R750, but had to sell it last year. I was miserable all last year, hopefully I'll be back on two wheels before the summer ends.
I'm looking at the Suzuki GSX-R1000 or a Honda VTX1300? Big decision...another sportbike or a cruiser. My wife won't ride with me on the sport, but she will ride on the cruiser. I love both bikes, too bad I can't afford both!
decisions, decisions
Do you bike riders and former bike riders, drool whenever you see a nice bike pass? When I'm in the car and hear a bike coming blocks away I start looking...my wife hates when I do that. I've even got my young daughter pointing out "the pretty bikes"!
I love motorcycles, dirtbikes, personal watercraft/sea-doos. All the fun stuff that takes time away from JW activities and gets a big frown from the boys in Brooklyn.

a few ?'s
by carla inmay i ask a few questions?
i'm sure some have already been asked, and some are not meant to be hurtful, i just don't understand.
backround- i am not jw, in fact quite anti jw, husband has been studying for about two years, not baptized, not field service, i know doctine quite well, flipflops, un, new 1914, etc......... do any of you feel 'guilty' for getting someone 'in'?

Do any of you feel 'guilty' for getting someone 'in'?
Yes I feel bad/guilty. I only brought two in by means of "study", but I probably encouraged young ones to stay in and do more by the example I set. We had a nice clique of young brothers trying to be model JWs. If anyone stepped out of line we'd "encourage" them to fall back in line.
If you didn't have any friends or family 'in', what would keep you? fear of the big A?
I'm in because of family, otherwise I'd be out. Not worried about the WT's Armageddon.what is current thought on us 'worldly' people? Even your own children?
The current teaching is that people that lived hundreds of years ago and were not JWs will be resurrected, and many today will take a stand for truth...everyone else will be killed. If children have at least one parent doing Jehovah's will, they will live.If it is the truth, why such fear at looking at anything not sactioned by the wt?
It isn't truth, that is why the WTS doesn't want members on these type of boards. Why would any active jw be on this board? Isn't that a big no-no?
Some active JWs are inquisitive, some have doubts, a number of reasons. Yes visiting these boards is prohibited. -

Please share your Quick Build Experiences here...
by jeanniebeanz in.
many of us have shared in these projects, and honestly, some of my best and worst memories of the 'friends' were had at these crazy events.
will you please share some of your experiences at quick builds?.
-
doinmypart
I don't have single experience per se, but I liked the quick builds for the work experience I gained.
I worked on the Heating & Air crew for 10+ years, gained valuable experience hanging duct work and installing systems.
For 6 of those years I did double-duty by working on the Cabinet crew, most of this work was done prior to the actual build. Again I gained valuable experience learning to operate equipment in a cabinet shop and was able to build cabinets, posts, railings, moldings, etc.
I hated when brothers would pull out a guitar and people would sing Kingdom melodies, or when we had to do the WT lesson on site. I hated working through the night shooting nail guns, hammering, and otherwise disturbing the neighbors.

The Watchtower and the Vatican Have No Choice
by metatron ini was amused to watch the news about cardinal ratzinger's elevation to the papacy.. there was plenty of talk of 'uniting all christians' and other sweettalk - all designed to paper.
over the fact that this german hierarch isn't popular even in his native deuschland.. now why would they elect such a leader?
why would they promote the "panzer cardinal".

Another good post Metatron. btw, I've missed seeing your posts, I always look forward to them.
The WTS seems to be getting harder. The tone at the Special & Circuit Assemblies indicate this. The KMs, elder meetings with CO, and Society letters are tightening the screws. Nothing but hard times ahead.

May KM, You've got to read this

The May 2005 KM (US Branch version) is a bunch of tripe.
In the first article, Jehovah's Day Is Near, the writers are feeding the R&F more gloom-and-doom-the-end-is-near. The WTS knows the R&F are getting on with their lives and there isn't any real sense of urgency. Here are a few quotes from the article:
Christians ardently desire the coming of Jehovah's day, through whcich he will destroy the present system of things and usher in a new world of righteousness...
...the apostle John mentions "seven kings," representing a succession of seven world powers. John also refers to "an eighth king," which now represents the United Nations. Are we to expect other world powers to come on the scene? No, the prophecy states that this eighth king "goes off into destruction," after which no further earthly kings are mentioned. Does this prophecy help you to see where we are in the stream of time?...
...the enormous image seen by Nebuchadnezzar in a dream represents a succession of world powers. Each of these powers has already made its appearance. Where in the course of history do we find ourselves today? In the period symbolized by the feet of the image. The prophecy vividly describes what will occur next. Human rulership will be completely destroyed, making way for "a kingdom that will never be brought to ruin." Can you see how this shows that Jehovah's day is near?...
...May our public ministry continue to reflect the urgency of the angelic proclamation: "Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of the judgment by him has arrived."The rest of the KM, save 2 articles, deals with the family...5 articles dealing with the family, and an entire page with a blank Family Schedule.
The 1st family article is titled Make a Practical Family Schedule. A few quotes:
...A practical way to plan the activities of the family so that spiritual matters are given priority is to have a written schedule. Take a few minutes to make your own weekly family schedule, using the blank schedule on page 6...The sample schedule below may be helpfulas you make your schedule...
...it includes just four basic activities; (1) attendance at congregation meetings, (2) family field service, (3) the family study, and (4) the consideration of the daily text. Including these on your schedule can help you to "make sure of the more important things"...
...Your family schedule need not be limited to just those four activities. If you prepare for certain meetings as a family, make a note of that on your schedule. If you read a portion of the Bible together after considering the daily text or do so at another time, indicate that. If you typically share in some form of family recreation, you may wish to include that on your schedule. Is the WTS scared they're losing their youth? It's no wonder when they emphasize dry/boring/dead activities like meetings, and then mention recreation as if it is an after thought, "recreation, you may wish to include that", wtf.
My blood pressure is rising as I read these articles, so I'll just post the titles of the remaining articles
The 2nd family article is Family Schedule-Congregation Meetings
The 3rd family article is Family Schedule-Family Field Service
The 4th family article is Family Schedule-The Family Study
The 5thfamily article is Family Schedule-The Daily TextEach of those articles tells parents how they should be doing these activities with their children, and how to schedule it as a family.
The WTS Leaders either really don't have a clue or they're grasping at straws. They aren't growing in several countries, and their old school whack ass approach is only making things worse. The sad thing about it is that only a few will see these articles as a feeble attempt to hold things together, the majority will sit there and nod their heads in agreement. I feel sorry for the kids, as summertime approaches they should be having fun and enjoying their youth, instead too many will be wasting hours wishing they were somewhere else.
