I think I'm screwing myself
by nonamegiven inget your mind out of the gutter, not screwing myself that way haha.. for those that don't know, i'm df'd, trying to get reinstated so i can get family/friends back in my life than fade away faster than the only good radio station you can tune in on a long road trip.
basically, i can't keep my mouth shut.

QUESTIONS FROM READERS----CHECK THIS OUT!
by Mary inseeing as i have the wt in front of me today, i thought you'd enjoy the questions from readers from the february 15, 2007 article on the evils and pagan origins on toasting or clinking of glasses.
the article specifically mentions how not everything today that was of pagan origin is necessarily bad, and sites "wedding rings" as being of pagan origin, but it's not viewed like that now.
then, incredibly, they go on and say that while toasting might not be considered a religious practice today, there's "good reason" for christians to avoid it------without giving any valid reason why other than: do as we say:.

just after i posted our latest ordeal with our jw neighbors, and their jw friends pulling down our frosty, egging our house and car, we got a knock on the door!

Could someone be amassing a personal fortune at Watchtower land?
by Gill inhow sure can we be that no one or even two or more jw is amassing a personal fortune at the expense of the watchtower slaves and the watchtower society?.
locally, there was an elder who was able to have affairs with three different women, including his wife for thirty years.
during that same time he had his hand in the contribution box to keep his business going.. we're talking thirty years here.. i agree with many posts here that the legal dept actually run the wtbts now and not the governing body.

yes I am sure that its completely possible some bethel accountant is cooking the books for his own personal gain and I am pretty sure that it wouldn't be the first time. I think it has happened before but they got caught and were far from rich.

I was just currious because at some point I imagine I will have to discuss these things with family and I can always use the best arguements, but I totally agree with you they died for Christ's sake and are being tossed away. Though the watchtower does occassionally reference them as true christians when it supports their case but they neglect the numbers.

My jw kids visit went well...
by esw1966 ini just wanted to update those of you who helped me with my children's visit.. my kids came out to visit me from wisconsin to washington for the first time since the divorce.
i was very nervous.
we basically had a great time.
