often i hear jws claim that people leave the borg because they cannot follow the rules, implying that anyone who leaves lacks character, self control, and/or moral values.. often i hear jwd posters--me included--say the myriad of rules in the borg is one of (not the only) reason they would not follow the org.

Only man would enforce such laws. A loving God would understand our situation and understand that He made us like this. He gave us the ability to reason. He made us imperfect. (yes, he did, because I don't except the Adam and Eve story where one sin screwed us all. Right this second there is a baby with flies on his face, screaming in pain and starving to death. Tell HIM that it's because someone ate the wrong apple. Go ahead and tell him that and if he makes it to an adult he'll murder you for being so stupid and insulting his lot in life.)

When God tells me what to do, I'll do it. If He was so loving and He was actually out there, why not give us 2 seconds of His time, open up the heavens and say "My children, I am here." A loving God would do that for us and not make us rely on imperfect humans for the key to salvation. As for me and my household, we shall serve who we know loves us. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

it broke my heart to read about someone having to paying court fee's after wining a sexual abuse case against the wtbts.

she ended up winning 5,000 dollars but has to pay 220000 dollars in court feee to wtbts and for her lawyer.

Wouldn't a second witness to child molestation be considered a child molester? What would this person say, "Oh yes, I was there, I watched the entire thing. Yep, call the cops, he's guilty. By the way, I did nothing wrong. I did my spiritual duty and came forward to help the victim and do the right thing. I'm not a molester, I just like to watch."

Hey 3rd, I asked you respectfully to show me a couple things and with those answers you know what questions are next. It is not logical to answer a question when it is obvious this answer raises new questions, very obvious to me and you. It's being deceptive and it is hard to believe someone when they have been deceptive to me.

I thought you were a 'scholar', and I'm not being sarcastic, I just thought there would be a better explanation for something so important. It's no little thing. I think you have been backed in to a corner on this one.

One more thing-----if it's Bible law, as you say, to use this rule, doesn't it make you question the Bible? Not even the entire thing, just questioning the fact that in today's world maybe not EVERY SINGLE LITTLE WORD in the Bible should be blindly followed.

Man wrote the Bible. Maybe the light is getting brighter. Yes, it says it was inspired by God, but has there ever been a case where man was inspired by God and they had to change what they originally wrote due to times changing and lights brightening? Remember this time is not saying "Oh, that was like 50 years ago! Yes we said those things, but that's a long time ago." It's actually saying "Oh that was like 2,000 years ago, but that's a long time ago." Wouldn't that second saying be just as justified if not more due to the amount of time the light has had to brighten?

Would changing inspired word be wrong? Please help, I'm confused.

the wts claims that it is the true christian religion but it obviously isn't, it is a heartless business more than anything else.

but how do imagine the true religion to be?

it obviously should be very spiritual but how exactly is this to be manifested in its life?

The only way to have a perfect church would be to remove the people. But then it ceases to be a church, so maybe the only way is to stay at home and study on your own with a bible and a few prayers.

The Spencer article has been throroughly discredited. Beckford pointed out at the time that the methodology is flawed because Spencer failed to properly distinguish between active and marginal members. Even Penton noted that the language is clearly hostile to Jehovah's Witnesses and the ratios unreliable.

I'm sure you're right. But would the numbers be that off? Just from general observation it's pretty clear that there are more mental problems at the hall than at the mall.--IMO

It's like questioning someone who said urine tastes bad. Maybe they have never tasted it but it's safe to say he is correct.--IMO
