Unfortunately, Dawgs idea is only a temp solution. To hope to get anywhere here he needs to start being willing to consider critical viewpoints.
This can be done Cognac.
For example, Can you e-mail your hubby? If so, start sending him a few things, carefully selected. Maybe start off with non JW things, like youtube videos or jokes etc. I e-mailed things with my wife straight from the beginning. After about a month of sending her articles, experiences etc, she one day SENT ONE TO ME! I fell out of my chair. Then she wanted to order COC and In Search of Christian Freedom on her own. Two months later she went to her very last meeting. Today, she is over and done with the JW's and has faded away. But I am not kidding when I say the ability to send her e-mails was huge. Here is the kind of article I am talking about: http://www.jwfacts.com/index_files/light.htm That is a great website withy many articles he might find worth at least reading. Very respectfully presented, which is key to getting JW's to consider reaqding them.Tell hubby you agree with this article, but want his opinion on it. Here are also a few experiences I like to send to people. Below is the story of a raised in the JW's "Bethelite". He also had no axe to grind with anybody. His story starts on post 19. He too was not disfellowshipped. His name is Jace98. http://www.beliefnet.com/boards/message_list.asp?pageID=5&discussionID=551493&messages_per_page=4 Here below is the story of a brother from the 2005 Gilead Graduate Class. His pic was in the WT just recently. Once again, no axe to grind and not disfellowshipped. Same conclusion though. He still posts here, I believe. http://exjehovahswitnessforum.yuku.com/topic/971/t/What-should-I-title-my-life-story-my-life-story-reposted.html And another Bethelite Sister this time, who also walked away from it all without being disfelowshipped for any wrongdoing. She shares her life as a Bethelite too further down the thread. http://exjehovahswitnessforum.yuku.com/topic/979/t/I-Colored-Outside-the-LinesMy-Story.html There are so many similar stories of people that have left the faith all over the internet. There are so many website and articles that can open his eyes. These are just some of the ones that I found interesting. Show one here and there to hubby. Let him see the many reasons why people all over the world are questioning the JW's today. Tell him that it is important to YOU that he at least hear and look at some of these real world, honest, sincere and recent accounts. That you have questions needing answers. If he is completely unwilling to even consider examining these or similar stories/articles, then I am afraid you may likely be DEAD IN THE WATER. But do give it time. All it takes is one time with his guard down to have his eyes opened wide!

Cognac asks:..."What if you say that you don't teach anything so your not an apostate? You just believe something different in your heart."
****** Read pages 34 and 35 of the Reasoning Book, under the subject Apostasy.
Under the definition of apostasy it includes this:
"Others claim to believe the bible but reject Jehovah's Organization".
**** By rejecting any CURRENT TEACHING published by "Jehovah's Organization", you are then considered to be rejecting "Jehovah's Organization" itself.
Then, under the subheading, "Some identifying marks of Apostates", on page 35 it states:
"They may claim to serve God but reject his representatives, his visible organization".
And then it quotes Jude 8 and 11 about "disregarding Lordship and speaking abusively of Glorious ones" etc.
Obviously speaking here about our good ole BOYS FROM BROOKLYN.
This is exactly what happened to me. I did not take blood. I did not tell others to take blood. I did not speak out against the organization at all. I simply DISAGREED with that one current teaching of the organization about blood.
And then after the elders came to my house and tried to as they said, "snatch me out of the fire", (though could not refute or really even address my arguments proving the JW's were wrong on blood), they said they would have no choice but to disfellowship me unless I changed my mind and now agreed with this teaching once again.
To simplify all this Cognac, by disagreeing with any JW teaching, you are (according to the JW's) THE DREADED "APOSTATE". Amazing but true.
And Here is more from the "printed page" itself. (Hubby should love this too)...
Watchtower, August 1, 2001, p. 14:
A mature Christian must be in unity and full harmony with fellow believers as far as faith and knowledge are concerned. He does not advocate or insist on personal opinions or harbor private ideas when it comes to Bible understanding. Rather, he has complete confidence in the truth as it is revealed by Jehovah God through his Son, Jesus Christ, and ‘the faithful and discreet slave."
You just gotta love that. I guess that one answers your initial question about "just believing something different in your heart".
To be disfellowshipped, an apostate does not have to be a promoter of apostate views....If a baptized Christian abandons the teachings of Jehovah, as presented by the faithful and discreet slave, and persists in (((believing))) other doctrine despite Scriptural reproof, then he is apostasizing. Extended, kindly efforts should be put forth to readjust his thinking. However, if, after such extended efforts have been put forth to readjust his thinking, he continues (((to believe))) the apostate ideas and rejects what he has been provided through the 'slave class', then appropriate judicial action should be taken."
You can see a copy of the actual letter in Ray Franz 'Crisis of Conscience', page 341.
As you can clearly see from the above, not only can one not publicly disagree with any current JW teachings today, but you cannot even THINK DIFFERENTLY.
This is just another reason why I told them I can no longer support this organization any longer.
And just before they were going to disfellowship me, because I could not agree with their position on blood and fractions, I handed in my letter of disassociation.
I lost biz partner, employees, my stepson, reputation, friends, family and am viewed as a wicked person and shunned by all JW's today.
And what is my great crime for all this?
Disagreeing with the organization and that is it.
THAT is viewed as the greatest sin today. Because you are both an unrepentant sinner AND an apostate, according to the JW's.
Be sure to share all this with hubby. Bet he'll just love to know you guys BOTH ALREADY APOSTATES.
Keep up the good work Cognac. (you bad apostate you...

As one who has debated with more JW's online than I can count, running away is the only thing they can do. Those that have debated issues like blood, 607, false predictions, flip-flops, shunning, military and many others usually get clobbered in the process.
Then they say something about not throwing pearls before swine etc and find the next flight out of town.
You have no idea just how many times I have experienced this first hand.
I used to debate all the time on beliefnet. My name is Amhungry there..
But there are only a handful of the same JW's there. And they always get clobbered, then leave, then say something about bad apostates, then start a new thread and then do the same thing.
So I just stopped wasting my time. Then I came back for two weeks last month and watched the very same thing happen again.

It's so bad, sometimes I feel sorry for them.
They are clinging to a false concept that exists in their minds only.
The JW's are not God's special anything.
This has been proven again and again and again... -

I have no read any of this. But I do know Proplog has been defending the JW policies as of late. That is, he has been TRYING to defend the JW policies as of late.
I can respect alternative views on most any subject, Proplog. But this is an (((EX)))-JW site. And many here have been badly burned by these controlling, family breaking, unscriptural, judgmental, deadly sorry JW policies.
If you are going to defend these sorry JW policies then, just be sure you are prepared. I have not seen you successfully defend even one as of yet.
And now you want to run away altogether. In my opinion, that would be because you CAN'T defend these sorry policies. Which is why many of us have left the JW's altogether. Neither could we.
Many of the JW policies are just that bad.
Happy Trails!

Blood Issue - Could that mean bloodshed???
by cognac inif you look up the greek word for blood, it could mean actual "blood" or it could mean "bloodshed".
the scriptures in acts are not quoted anywhere so nobody could really say for certain which meaning it actually has... .
also, just before it in acts, it states to abstain "from things strangled".

Hi Cognac!
Above is a link with numerous points of evidence proving just how wrong the WT blood policy is.
You are doing great here btw. I enjoy watching you work through all of this. You are a firecracker. Hope your hubby stays open-minded too. If he reads any of this, say hello for me. And tell him we'd love to have him post his thoughts too.
Back to the ballgame...

One week down! Eleven more to go...
I forgot just how good this program is. I already feel healthier and stronger with a little more definition noticable. I have been very good about my diet this first week. Tomorrow is my first "free day" (where you can eat whatever you want) since starting out. For some reason KNOWING I have that free day coming up makes it easier to get through the week. Here is a great video about what can be done if you focus on any program similar to this BFL one I am on: http://www.transformation.com/ Give it a couple secs to load. Is worth it.

Eryn should have been banned before, imo. But now SHE HAS TO GO.
Eclipse should be banned for her sheer magnitude of ignorance and naivety.
It's embarrassing to watch her go on like this.
