  Did you block out your Witness life?

  i stopped going to meetings at age 19 or 20. my brother had been df'd.

  my sister and her new bethalite husband had left the organization labeled as apostates, and my single mom followed suit.

  i was pretty much raised by the congregation, though i lived with my isolated mother.

  Hi and welcome.
  I left at 22, completely fed up,angry and bitter. I jumped head first into the "world" and fell in looove with it. I have had some conversations with an apostate uncle and my jw fam would send me an occasional pamphlet of sorts that I threw away. Only in the last six months have I looked online for information. And no sh*t, never knew in a million there were zillions of 'ex-jws' just like me. I am remembering so many things and realizing where some of my f'd up issues come from... This place is definitely theraputic.

  some habits are hard to break.

  many of us were raised as jws and when people try to 'put you down', they might say something like, "you're still acting like a witness".

  i wonder whether or not we sometimes do exhibit witness "traits".

  Alone With the Opposite Sex

  over the last few months i have been training three different men for backup position of my job.. we are alone in my car all day.. as a jw, i remember one time, needing to go to another congo in a different town to work on a part at an assembly.

  i was to ride with the brother doing the part.

  he was probably at least 30+ years older than me.

  Sex is such a hyge part of the JW- everything revolves around it. It's sickening. My dad wouldn't let my boy cousin stay in our room at night with all the girl cousins. SOMETHING might happen!!! Are you F%#king kidding me???? My cousin??

  Sixish years ago I was working at a nightclub in Minneapolis that had a fundraising event for the Democratic Party. Bill Clinton was the special guest. It was a pretty cool experience overall. I couldn't pee without a man in black appearing out of nowhere talking into his collar. The staff got a photo of Bill and us which hung in the front bar for the next couple years. My boss sold the place, we all quit. My last night I yanked the huge framed 2'x2' picture off the wall and took it home. It's in my closet.
