  Dec.21st and the countdown to the Mayan Apocalypse

  december 21 marks the winter solstice and the end of a cycle called the 13th b'ak'tun.. 1.will we see a few who want to join the celestial parade ala those who wanted to hop on a comet a few years ago.. 2.should koolaid and vodka be banned dec. 20th.. 3.will the wt.

  come out with an article making fun of those who 'falsely predict the end of the world' .

  i'll take bets on #3.

  Does anybody remember the counsel from a CA 10 or so years ago where they advised that it would be appropriate to not just give literature to a bereaved nonJW. NOW it would be appropriate to bring over a caserole or something along with the literature.

  "Well thank you WBTS for that wise and timely counsel! How thoughtful and giving of you!" (Even though non believers have been doing that like forever as they think about the needs of others.) Everybody in my group got a kick out that advice...we were teasing about it for days.

  Well, what other statement can the WBTS make? Their help is shallow and insincere. Any attempt to comfort bereaved is with an agenda. People don't really know their motive. Makes me sick.

  The WBTS created the JW culture, and the JW culture is the problem with JW's. Not just doctrine.

  The Early Morning Field Service Scam.

  early yesterday morning i was driving through town on a street that rearly has any foot traffic and never at 7:30 am on a sunday morning and there they were.

  a group of jbubs milling about counting time.

  i drove a little further and there was a second group walking slowly down the street in the morning drizzle.

  @nugget: Exactly! The intention of the hour requirement and the accompanying guilt is to keep the followers too busy to do anything else and keep them from being distracted. By convincing many that hours=salvation, it's an easy control tactic for the WBTS. It works really well. The other "enlightened" ones will turn in time to save positions and avoid criticism. Nobody I know is very interested in actually reaching people.

  Yep, "early work."

  One of my favorites was about 7:30am on a work day driving by a Starbucks in downtown. On a bench outside were two older seesters holding their mags up and having a great conversation between themselves, pay no mind to the people going in and out of the Starbucks.

  It's amazing how the WBTS has these people thinking they are chosen and doing a "lifesaving" work.

  10 things that happened in 2012 - my review

  last year i did a review of 2011 for the forum.

  this was more of a review that focussed on some of the awful stuff that was printed in the literature that year - the first year of my awakening.. 2012 has been more interesting from the point of view of things actually happening outside the literature.

  i thought it might be nice to take a look back and put some of these events in chronological order.... .

  3/15/12 WT: Health Problems Causing You To Become Spiritually Weak? Then You Are Wicked.

  check out the first study article in the march 15th study edition.

  it seems they are now stating that if you allow health problems to cause you to miss meetings or become inactive then you are wicked because you refuse to "get up" from being stumbled.

  I've noticed that the cold, unloving, "if you aren't at the Kingdom Hall for every meeting, the only possible reason is that you are spiritually weak" attitude is permeating the literature, and our local BOE.

  This precisely what let to my moment of clarity during a WT study. I had been staying with and tending to an ailing elderly mother, for 3 days, made it back early on a Sunday to "make" meeting, and the WT study was exactly like this. And while listening to the arrogant self righeous comments, a switch flipped in my head and I never went to another meeting again. I thought I was doing well to make it to the meeting, actually feeling good about it then to be greeted by this WT study and the accompanying comments made me feel I did not belong there and to get the hell out. And I did.

  This is nothing new, it's the same thinking and drivel pounded out year after year. But maybe there is somebody else out there just like me who will realize no matter what you do, you are just a heartbeat away from disapproval and ultimate destruction in the JW mindset and will also get the hell out. I hope people realize they have value and are good no matter what the society says.

  Got the contract

  now i just have to sign on the dotted line and drop it off and i shall once again be in the permanent job field.

  i won't be earning a huge amount by any means but it is enough to cover my bills and to save a little bit.

  this does give me that relief of finances coming in, of course i'll be keeping my ears and eyes open for better opportunities, but that being said i shall embrace this new opportunity with open arms and eagerness.. it's been a hellofa tough year people - hellofa tough.
