Keeping accessible documents non-accessible to "certain ones" seems petty, which we know the WTBS is. Because it is all about punishing disobedient ones. The punishing keeps the others in fear of it. I don't think they will let go of DF'g anytime soon. But it's really stupid for them to try to keep publications/literature away from everybody, IMO.

Are we starting to treat DF people differently?
by Quarterback insome may remember the time when the private study edition of the wt wasn't to be made available to outsiders, and the df'd.. now, with the recent boe letter, sept 1, 2014, it specifically states that jw.org is making the km available even for df'd individuals.. do you sense a new trend developing?.

HELP needed for a friend, please. Anyone?..
by defender of truth ina friend of mine (who has recently started reading jwn) is having trouble eating and sleeping because, even after having recently woken up to ttatt.. they are still concerned about 'demons, everlasting destruction, and jehovahs disapproval'.. i've tried to encourage them.
i'm sure you all understand that these things can take time, the transition period is often painful, to some extent.
i'm still struggling with anger and depression myself.. i'll be away from jwn, off the internet, and thus out of contact with them for a while (don't ask why)... so please don't expect me to reply to or even look at what you post, .

Fear and control comes from what you give power to. Once you take the power away from Satan, demons, whatever...they are nothing more than words.

144,000 New Light update
by goingthruthemotions ini updated the list of partakers to 2013 (see below)...if i was to predict as to what new light might be coming down the borg poop shoot may be.
i would predict that they need to do something about the 144,000 being a literal number.. for two reasons:.
1. the number of partakers is increasing every year.

I understand. Good on you for giving you children a different life. Freedom is priceless.
I feel the same way after seeing the old friends. I feel sorry for them in their delusion...the future they expect will never materialize...what a waste of life. I feel a little sorry for myself...little...just sets me back a wee bit. But when I think about the freedom I have, that chasm between gets wider and wider, and I feel less and less about it. Phew...what a journey.
Congratulations on your successful exit!

My Story: from JW Elder to Born Again Christian to Agnostic
by passwordprotected ini first posted here on 3rd june 2008. at the time i was an elder, appointed the previous october, i was 36 and i was a born-in.
at the time i'd become disillusioned with the society due to the governing body's letter explaining why the book study in private homes was being abolished.
april 2008 saw me start questioning this decision, privately of course, and this eventually led me to this site, to jwfacts and to many youtube videos, all of which began to errode my faith in the leaders of the organisation.. in july 2008, having discussed my doubts with my wife, i attended the district convention, deciding to give the society one last chance to convince me it was the truth.

Wonderful post! Thank you for sharing your journey.
It is so strange there is so much comfort and happiness in "not knowing."

Do you intend to die?
by new hope and happiness inas far as i know, all of us are going to die.
our hope, our stories, and the fantazy of " good people" telling tales of heaven, or a new system, or future reassembling of our consciousness is not likely?
do you still cling to it?.

Accepting my mortality was huge after exiting the JWs. Never dying, even though how/what/where was iffy, was ingrained from infancy. My logical mind accepts it. My emotional side hates it.

Paradise was such a nice thought...frolicking with wild life, being able to pursue delayed interests... But I didn't see how "paradise" could work. My head would start to explode when I started thinking how we would have to trade services and trades in order to live like the pictures in the books. Then eventually it would be just like life today...except it would be like living in one giant, bland earthwide Bethel. Beth-hell.
No, I didn't see myself there, no matter how hard I tried to do that. And besides as a teen, a CO told our congregations that only 1/3 of it were going to make it. Thinking about that now, I'm sure that damaged any sort of hope I had in everlasting life.
