About 'Regular' Pioneers
by Gayle innow that district overseers have been deleted, now that bethelites are being devalued and increasingly dismissed, now that special pioneers are being deleted in u.s., and maybe elsewhere gradually.
who would have ever thought?.
yet, now what is the value to be a regular pioneer to the org?

The only crumb of recognition the society provides is "pioneer" at the congregation level...excluding servants of course. And they wear that "pioneer" badge proudly. And the pioneers up the overall numbers for the org. -

How was it for you when you had to shun someone?
by Anator ini remember a good friend when i was in and active who was d'fd.
when he started coming back, for me at that time is was gut-wrenching not to say 'hello' or at the very least encourage him to continue.
i thought even at this time, does this act of shunning really effective?

It was terrible.
The last 20 years or so I greeted DF'd ones who came to the meeting and told them it was good to see them. One time I saw somebody at an amusement park and I treated them like they were invisible. To this day I feel horrible about it. Told myself "never again", and never did.

My First Birthday.....
by The Marvster ini awoken today and realised immidiately i'm 44 today... and after 3 years of being out, decided to acknowledge my birthday.... i'm off out to treat myself to a big hearty breakfast with cup of tea in the local weatherspoon's by the massive pond full of weird bird-life, later today i'm giving myself a gift of a 90 minute relaxation session in a float tank down by canary wharf in london.... only really have 2 close friends (it's a slow process trusting people agian) and they probably won't be able to see me today, but i'm sure i'll have a belated surprise from them both.... the first thing i did when i remembered was to rush to the computer, connect to the web and put on stevie wonder's 'happy birthday', as i listen to it, tears stream down my face... all those years of my life stolen ' but..... i'm free....'.

So understand how you feel Marvster. The WT cult really does a number on us.
Treat yourself and Happy Happy Birthday!

Why the 2015 yearbook about Dominican Republic omits Ray Franz ???/
by rege brazzy inraymond franz was an important figure of the theocratic history in dominican republic...why ?
was it honest ?

Wow wifibandit! Since I know current missionaries in the DR today, I downloaded the Yearbook just to have a look. I was happy to see the section on Nicaragua, as my family were need-greaters there. I saw the familiar names of, and have to say, some of the finest, kindest people I ever met.
A wee bit sad...though. All that work for a crazy cult. It is what it is.

Paranoia after today's Watchtower
by Truthexplorer inboy oh boy did i feel paranoid at today's wt.
not only are we to watch our associations outside of the congregation, but also watch our associations 'within' the congregation.
this was emphasised by the wt study conductor.

It's always been this way. Hence the judging. "They miss a lot of meetings." "I don't ever see them in service."
We were taught over and over to evaluate and categorize the members in our own congregation. I was so tired of judging my fellow brothers I swore I'd never do it again when I left.

My DSL is not that strong anyway. We don't have high speed cable yet where my townhomes are. I sort of went for it because the price was good and had decent reviews. -

What are the things that wake people up from the Watchtower Corporation?
by punkofnice inwhen i became an elder i saw the dark side.
a side i previously believed couldn't possibly exist in the one true religion of the happiest people on earth.. then they rolled out 'overlapping generations(tm)' and that was the last straw.. all my life i had doubts but surpressed them thinking i was at fault and not the cult leaders.. it seems more likely that now the governing body are parading around like popes, wearing their expensive jewellery, that this will nauseate even dyed in the wool jws.. i wonder if the wake up can be condensed into main categories?.
1. experiencing the cruel handling of matters by the wbt$ reps.. 2. crazy doctrine (eg.

From my experience, the top 3-4 have been mentioned...double standard, mistreatment, BS doctrine.
So everybody sees and hears the same things. Why does it affect some and not others. It must be a battle, a fight to hang on to this ridiculous doctrine now spruced up with the shiny blue dot.
Half my family is still in. I know my brother, a PO/COBE, see the s**t. What does he do...lead his family out? Just dunno. Some are really oblivious to it all, and I think it is an emotional need, like an addiction...they may lack self esteem and even though the WTBS beats them down, they need the structure...and the pet lion is a nice carrot.
