New commentary on revelation coming up?

together through the great tribulation - come to jehovah's mountain.
still awaiting solid confirmation though.

I WISH it was Herman Munster.
Well, I had to skip through to the end...I just can't seem to listen to anything they say, but I did the segment with the scientists and evolution. And...the closing number "Dooooon't run fast..."
I hope there is some rebuttal here on the evolution segment that a non-science person like me can use.

In the paradise JWs will have a standard uniform
by RodrigoGuerreiro inanyone else notice this on the last video of the regional convention 2016?.
frame stills:.
conclusion: it seems that the paradise will not be only the end of wickedness but also the end of the jws typical cheap polyester suits :-p.

What Billy said. A totally weird vision of a paradise.
At least in the old days we had a tiger and a panda to look forward to. Now it just an amazing horse (note: with bridle and reins!), that made it through the worse destruction in the history of the world.
I guess from what has been said here, the faithful are going for it.

The last video in the 2016 convention...
by problemaddict 2 in...is an epic triumph is emotional manipulation.
bringing together all of the stories they told thus far and placing them int he "new world" complete with the little boy who was killed in a car accident coming back from the dead.. i have a good friend who is stuck in with family and plays the role.
he said everyone was crying, and the people next to him rated the videos by how many tissues they needed to dry their eyes.

Just re-watched this. Again...wow.
So many issues with it. So many things wrong...
But...again...WT teaches a fairy tale, and JW believe a fairy tale.

Bob Dylan on Muhammad Ali:
“If the measure of greatness is to gladden the heart of every human being on the face of the earth, then he truly was the greatest. In every way he was the bravest, the kindest and the most excellent of men.”I'm not a boxing fan, but I'm an Ali fan. He was able to live the life he chose to the fullest. Can you imagine if the 12 yo Cassius was told he would not be allowed to be the person he authentically was meant to be? He'd be lost and the world would not have known Ali.
RIP Champ.

No Girls Scout Cookies for you!
by independent_tre ineven though, i was raised in a witness home, i never remember hearing that girl scout cookies were a no-no.
and even though i've only been baptized for a few years, i don't remember any specific admonishment of these sweet treats.
but recently at work a jdub coworker made it a point to remind me that jw's do not buy or eat girl scout cookies.

blondie - There is nothing in writing. Not even saying that your children can't join. It is done by word of mouth but I know many jws who buy and/or eat Girl Scout cookies.
Growing up JW the cookies were a no-no, and thinking about it now...no reason why! I think it was something crazy from back in the day for my parents. True, I think dubs buy them now.
Stupid religion.

Challenge to Creationists
by cofty inin response to the 37 threads in my evolution is a fact series - see bottom of op for links - perry posted a link to an article "44 reasons why evolution isn't true".. i offered him a challenge on the thread and by pm.
predictably he is totally ignoring it, so i am offering the challenge to any evolution-denier who thinks they have evidence to support their position.. please present one specific piece of evidence for creationism.. my task will be to refute it with evidence within 24 hours.. then i will present one piece of evidence for evolution and your challenge will be the same.. all posts must be as succinct as reasonably possible.
entirely in your own words, without copy-paste, videos or links.. please post your interest to take part and we will set it up before the first actual post in the exchange.

Just watched an episode of the new Stephen Hawking show "Genius." Episode 5, "What Are We?" is right in line with the discussion here.
http://www.pbs.org/show/genius-stephen-hawking/
A few simple experiments and he proves how life can actually come from a sort of primordial soup under the right circumstances...circumstances that happen all the time. As he says, so it goes in the sub-atomic world.
It is worth a look for anybody, especially Creationists.

Grunts. Medical maggots and stench soup: Who me? The perfect, most excellent idea for this summer's Regional Conventions. Thanks, NPR!
by oppostate inso i was listening to this npr piece entitled "from medical maggots to stench soup, 'grunt' explores the science of warfare" (this title is a link that will take you to that article).. it is an interview on the "fresh air" npr show (ironically for the content) featuring science writer and researcher mary roach about her latest book, grunt, 'roach learned all about the medicinal use of maggots in world war i. she also purposely sniffed a putrid scent known as "who me?
" that was developed as an experimental weapon during world war ii.'.
